4 pointsHad an hour to spare over the weekend for a change so decided to do this. Drives like the real thing and sounds even better as I didn't bother to wire up the noise flap controller instead using an aftermarket piece and adjusting the map to account for it.

3 pointsNext it was time for the strip down. Needs to loose a bit of weight so gone with the steel front guards and bumpers (PFL bumpers weigh a tonne!) to replace with a fibreglass kit from Mike Shaw Fibreglass. He does kits for some of the E30 racing series so was the right man to talk to. While I'm sure some people wont like it, the goal here isn't to create an M3 replica (hence not doing the rear windscreen/boot conversion-price wasn't worth it to me), but to loose a bit of weight and build a car how I've always wanted. I've always like the boxier type guards, plus gives me an extra cm or two to squeeze in some semi slicks. Special thanks to Kerri (Mosen Euro Parts) for lending me his front bumper mould. Looks so much better than Mikes front bumper mould. Very happy with how it came out!

1 pointYep sure did lol, its a PFL 320i sedan we picked up cheap but it had a uncracked dash that was quickly swapped into my little bros E30 coupe, also got an e21 323i 5 speed coupe in the same deal lol. Also cheers for the support guys, managed to get a couple of shots of it the other day Also my dad is going to test fit some different sized tires on the AC Schnitzer mags to see if he can get the under the guards, if anyone knows what size tires will fit nicely with 17x8.5 et13 please let me know! I was thinking of going for something like a 205/45/17 or similar to get a little bit of the stretched look while also being functional to fit under the guards. This would also mean that I am no longer daily driving on semis lol. 2000km done already on the new box and diff and its running mint, so much better with the ratios! Anyways here is some pics of the wee red beast!

1 pointFirstly, welcome to the forum. I will start by saying - I totally disagree with the seat bypass. It is illegal to tamper with the system - regardless of the fact that the air bag should still operate. They were installed for a reason! As far as the replacement module, i am pretty sure they cannot be reprogrammed for a different application - the 7 would have had more bags installed no doubt. You will need one that is programmed the same as yours. Or a new module which does need programming to the car.

1 pointhappy to give you a hand tim, would love to see your cabby again, Although i have used those additives with success in the past, i have used them on shitty cars that i know i will be the final owner of. for your car, do it once and do it right. I am presuming the leak is between the plastic and the core of the radiator? if so, a brand new Behr radiator is around the $2-300 mark, coolant another 40 to 60 for genuine bmw blue coolant (available from dealer, don't be scared to walk in the door there). Labour on top of that. As far as doing it yourself, its not the replacing the radiator itself thats the hard part, its the bleeding of the coolant that can be.

1 pointyou can spend as much or as little as you like. if an inspection two service as prescribed in your owners manual is what you are after, then you will be looking around the $1600 mark i would think including labour, but since i have never paid anyone to do it before its a number i have guessed. give us an idea of what you are looking for. a simple oil change (which is not and never has been a "service" contrary to many kiwis beliefs), a full lube, or an inspection one or two. if you have no record of the brakes and the power steering fluid being changed, it is well worth doing.

1 pointMakes the one Turners have in HB look very expensive! Thanks for the positive review. It's often the case (with any car, or anything for that matter) that reports tend to be where the writer has something to complain about - useful, but not necessarily telling the whole story. A4 B5 Quattros tend to rot out the upper rear suspension mounts, but they're not expensive and pretty easy to replace. (I did ours. ) A friend in the UK has a Mk1 A3 1.8T that's covered similar mileage on very little more than regular maintenance. Of course, there will be others that have had major issues.

1 pointAir New Zealand's US partner is United Airlines. United is one of those airlines where you have to fight the urge to jump out the entire flight.

1 pointThey're under the house. I saw them. Behind your tool box? I hope you weren't storing them in the silver car...

1 pointyum, yum lucky the cylinder liner didn't disappear as well. Reminds me of a series 2a land rover which did destroy the cylinder ended up with a holden 202 transplant. Best of luck with the new beast you have to instal.

1 pointThe bore is surprisingly not to bad and could be easily salvaged but of course its not worth doing on a n46. I might take the piston out and keep it as a momento .

1 pointStep two - Interior tidy-up. While it's going to be fully stripped with a rollcage/bucket seats etc, I still wanted the original interior to look ok for the couple months before I did strip it down. I used Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Coating (around $20 a can from supercheap) and couldn't be happier with the results! 6 months on, they still look the same as they did then, with no pealing/fading etc. I intend to keep the doorcards in the car for a tidier look. Rear seats are for sale if there's any interest. Rear parcel tray has since been moved on to my tech 1. I didn't bother with the front seats as they're ripped and will just bin them.
