2 pointsHi all. Collected the 2004 530d last night. This is to replace the 2002 330d that met with an untimely demise a couple of weeks ago. First impressions. Is a much larger car than the 330d, but more suited to my physical size, especially the drivers seat. I found it felt quite big, driving it for the first time, from Raglan to my home in Hamilton. I have been out and about in it today and found that I got used to it very quickly. Is a more comfortable ride, suspension wise, than the 330d. Though I think the 330d would possibly out handle it, though I could be wrong. This car has been well looked after, I am the third owner, the first was had it for 11 years! Here are some photos of it, as it was advertised on Trade Me, I have yet to take my own. I have been able to get a set of number plate frames for it too, thank you to Combes Johnston Hamilton. I hope this car serves me well, and for a long long time! Graeme

2 pointsUpdate. Been a bit slow over the last couple of weeks. Fitting off the brakes from peddle box to the front brake lines and where it meets the rear lines. Running the lines through the bulkhead and tiding it up. I've used lots of braided lines as the peddle box is adjustable not the drivers seat. Fitted a pressure switch for brake lights. Expansion tank install in the water system, I plumbed this into what was the heater inlet and return. Oil cooler. Radiator' power steering pump and lines. Ready for liquid's , If all goes well I may even have it running over the weekend. Pics

1 pointPicked up this ol girl a couple of weeks ago, 1996 750iL. Body is fairly straight and engine seems to be in good nick, however the interior and stereo are in need of a beef up.

1 pointMammoth task I know but I've always wondered how one of these V10's would go in the E38 chassis.

1 pointhaha no worries there GLENN i love a bit of banter myself. Michael it's a m73 model and agree they could do with a bit more power. Am hoping to get it looking and sounding similar to this guys one on youtube but love the sound of this v10 itb. would give my first born to get my v12 to sound like this

1 pointHi. Thank you for your reply and having a look around for me. Ha yup have spotted all of these ones, first one looked ok and bonus already being manual with stronger gearbox and some maintenance bits being done. Could be worth a nosey. The silver one in welly looked fairly straight and tidy, from memory i asked about the waterpump and they were not sure if alloy or plastic type or about some of the maintenance. Last one looks pretty tidy also but like you said i thought was pretty expensive.

1 pointthe car club entitles a modest discount at any BMW dealer. At the time Jeff Gray was very supportive of the club, which i feel we did not take full advantage of/Also at the time the mini club was quite active, and we could have got more involved with them.We held a few agms at the dealer and a couple of model launches as well as a tour of the dealership incl the workshop and facilities. The BMW car club is a valuable and supported group of BMW itself.

1 pointThe best quality tools have the distinctive smell of burnt roses.... it must be the metal. I always go for those tools... I've never been let down and some I have are over 30 years old

1 pointYeah, I'm in the Powerbuilt, Jonnesway, and Koken zone where it comes to Torx bits. Oh an possibly a Halfrauds piece or two.

1 pointBit of a hard sell as people only want to buy the cheapest but fail to realise that there are always going to be some major costs to get it up to scratch! Heaps spent on getting this car up to top condition mechanically and cosmetically and its worth every cent in my opinion to the right buyer. Although I do need to sell im not that fussed if it doesnt haha.. still an awesome car and both me and my dad love driving it from time to time so it can just stay there as a spare car
