Hi a number of you may have seen this car for sale a couple of months back. It's been pretty much out of sight for some years but is known to a few people and once again is back on the road with me as its third owner. #328 was NZ new and has just clocked up 116k km. If I have this right in 1991-ish the ACS wheels and body kit were fitted and the engine was given a healthy dose of Dinan "love and attention" upping its performance ... Mileage at that time was approx 80k km. There is no evidence of repair or rust, it's very original and except for the OBC everything works. As I understand it the same guys (guru's) have serviced and looked after it all their lives, which I find particularly cool. That said it's needed a little recommissioning , new tires have transformed it, leather rejuvenation has made it look like new inside along with a few bits and pieces. The biggest ticket item being a NOS AC radiator. Next week it's booked in to spend sometime with a couple of the well known BMW guru's being dyno''d. I'll let you know how it goes. Regards Julian

There's so much good about an older car that hasn't been optioned up - less to go wrong, less to worry about, and less to spend money on replacing this or that unusual part. Nice to have all the 'good bits' too, of course.

IIRC they have somewhere in the process a facility to add info about things you have done, costs incurred, which might be offset against the tax you have paid. It's really easy to use. However, if you do not have a computer (and there are a huge number of people who don't) then one of the 'services' may be useful. Even then though, you can call the IRD and deal with them over the phone.

The online IRD pay/refund service is fantastic, all those other companies do it register as your tax agent and use exactly the same facility. It takes the same amount of prep on your part whether you do it yourself or pay a service to do it for you, all you save is the 10 mins it takes to complete the wizard. Graham is correct, you shouldn't need to pay for this service. Heck, the IRD system even allows you to find out if you do own something without submitting that to the IRD themselves and it will not trigger collection. They pretty much couldn't provide a better facility.

I think that's why I've had my e36 316 longer than any other e36, I really enjoy the simple cars. Probably also why I drive a Morrie most days

Only 1mm to the radius, the fun was trying to find a rotor that matched the sweep area and "C" measurement. "C" measurement is distance between bottom of the sweep area and bottom of rotor face.

It's been a good couple of weeks... new fixed term role started; current house in Whitby sold; new(old) house in the Hutt purchased. If only I could find a buyer for my e91... I s'pose it's true about things happening in threes huh?

It's a service that exists only to prey on the uninformed. Those who don't know that IRD offers the exact same service for free online. Their advertising makes it out like they have a point of difference to the free online service, but they don't.

Hi Julian, So nice to see the interior looking the way it should. Looks fabulous. A very special M635csi ( have you introduced it to the Big Coupe website?). I actually really love the look of this car in white - not sure what other colours would lend itself so well to the body kit. Great to see it go to a good home and get enjoyed! Cheers!

A friend of a friend was ranting about how the rich in NZ pay loads of tax to support those too idle to work. Curiously she had no answer to a suggestion that the very rich typically pay an equivalent of a much lower rate of tax (at least) than an average working person, because the very rich employ people to help them not pay tax. It's sad, but there are very blinkered people on both sides of the major political divide, those that genuinely believe 'their' party can do no wrong. It's a great shame that those people can only end up disappointed and disillusioned.

More like the best entertainment America has provided to the rest of the world in a long time. Fun to watch from a distance...

In my experience the tyre wear on my lowered e36 is not anywhere near the same ballpark as the wear on my stock height e39, I was replacing 2-3 sets of rear tyres for every set of fronts and the most drastic improvement by far was after changing to a higher load rated tyre, im not saying it will make up for worn bushes or bad alignment, but for me there was no downside.
