2 pointsI sold my modified 327i, 5 speed, M3 5lug, Tech II for 12k a couple months ago, some of these sellers are pure dreamers! Some would say i sold mine too cheap, but it sold in 3 days with multiple buyers... by the time i sold all my spares (wheels, interior trim goodies etc) that I had on the car/keeping for a rainy day i was knocking on 20k for everything i had accumulated over the years! Realistically these cars are worth more in parts with these stupid crazy prices ! ?

1 pointTo me, it works musically beyond the marketing and tidy boxes. The clarity is great, sure there will be better systems out there but for what I want its perfect. , I usually buy from bavsound when speakers are on sale making it extra competitive without the extra labor quoted by local installer to fix something like a Focal set up.l, which would need extra brackets and crap. I see you're in Wellington, If you're coming to Tokaanu in March next year, I'll give you a demo.

1 pointGreat work! Here's your theme tune, though the underlying message is rather different. I've often been tempted by Bavsound, always wondered if their systems really worked *musically* (as opposed to HiFi), or if they were trading on the solid marketing, great ease of fitment and packaging of their product. Would love to hear your system, given opportunity.

1 pointProbably needs a good run. Like Wairarapa tour and back, or Gentle Annie? ? Ours always runs a little smoother and sips a little more lightly after a good thrash steady run in the country.

1 pointPeople who claim to have 'good' cars but who evidently cannot be bothered to do the most basic of research, like actually looking at the advert. Guy selling Style 23s. One of the pics shows '7 1/2J x 17' stamped on the rim - first question asked is "Size and width?" I stopped reading (I don't want a set of 23s) but I suspect the next question would have been "Offset?" assuming the time-wasting question-setter actually knows about things like that. Of course, the answer is et41. All genuine Style 23s are et41... As the simplest bit of investigation would reveal. Selling stuff these days is more like a war of attrition than a chance to recoup some funds.

1 point@hunter both don't do anything to the beam as far as I can tell, I just like the modern look of the white light. I did see these recently though https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-12129-led-bright-white-angel-eye-bulb-upgrade-e39-e60-e63-e65-x5-x3/ Would be keen to see how much brighter they are.

1 point@E30 325i Rag-Top In the end I settled on the F1 A2's because there was a significant jump to most of the others, non RFT's aren't an option and reviews and recommendations seem to indicate they were reasonable good. Hopefully better on the coarse chip than the potenzas (Which I do really rate for grip and feel usually). I am hoping I don't end up hating them, but I am really only less than a year out from replacing the 335D with a M340i xDrive or C43 AMG Estate.

1 pointHeres some interior pikkies - I'll do some exterior ones once the weather clears. The car has the "big toolkit" and its only missing the pick for adjusting the tappets. The steering wheel is a factory option one that came from a highly spec'ed 3.0Si that we owned - original wheel is included in the spares Only trim inside the cabin that was retrimmed was the seats - carpets are original. I replaced the original english spec Panasonic cassette player with an early Alpine unit - the original is in the spares, along with a period OEM spec Blaupunkt . The car did very little miles in the UK - the original owner brought this solely as an investment whilst on his OE - so the underside has had no exposure to the typical salted roads The rust in the car was around the chrome trims and the usual E3 rust traps - leading edge of the bonnet was probably the worst. The car's WoF expires this month - but will be WoFed when sold, and the car is located in Wellington

1 pointThe E46 is back! Here's the list from the PPI Replaced leaking rocker cover gasket and seals Replace water pump Replace A/C and fan belts Coolant Replace driver's mirror glass (had some blotches) Replace both front seat belts (not retracting well) and left rear belt (frayed) Install new front tyres (came with the car ) Fit 2nd hand ABS pump and bleed brake system - code ABS unit The auto electrician who coded the ABS unit reckoned it's the nicest E46 he's seen/driven. Only thing not done is the boot lights - Auto38 is tracking the right ones down... Great to have it back Do notice that the fuel consumption needle seems to be very laggy compared to the one in the E53.

1 pointI purchased an Eonon for my E39 recently and am not happy with it - the quality of these Chinese 'white label' units makes it too much of a crap shoot, and does not work out cheap at all once you add import duty and a couple of accessories. If you're going to spend that much it's better to spend a little more for a decent brand. Avin seems to be a better brand, coming in cheaper than Dynavin but getting good reviews (word is they have lifted their game recently and now offer great after-sales service). One thing I like about Avin is the optional dongle which allows full integration with the car's on-board computer, restoring all the outputs and settings you would normally have to sacrifice when you move to an after-market unit, plus it gives you access to more OBC features than your car came with, as well as the ability to leverage these outputs in apps such as Torque. This is what I was hoping to achieve with the Eonon, but the quality is just not there. My unit lost USB, so they sent me a replacement motherboard which I had to fit myself, and now it has also lost Wi-Fi. This leaves me with blue tooth only, so not entirely useless, but a long way away from what I paid for.

1 pointI'd own either of those Porsches, still dam good vehicles and despite having more seats get reasonably good reviews don't see your point at all agree about the m fun cars though, they won't suddenly become unlikeable, its just progress I guess

1 pointTo be fair, I don't think those who are fans of these existing BMW lines are suggesting that the new ranges will be 'bad cars', at all. I think that what they are lamenting is that BMW is giving up its uniqueness in an effort to appeal to the homogenous mass-market which is already exceedingly well served. If you want a 1.5-2.0L, turbocharged, transverse mounted engine driving either a front axle or a front/rear via a non-fulltime AWD setup, there are literally dozens of those on the market, often from brands who have them down to a fine art. But there was only one rear-wheel-drive, longitudinally mounted option in the entire small car market, and it's being killed off. Which kinda leaves those who liked it feeling like they're watching their favourite food joint being bowled to build yet another fast food burger chainstore.
