2 pointsKatmandu sell some really good trousers which I purchased that had great front, safety, zipped leg pockets which were deep and angled that you can't open sitting down or standing unless using two hands. I traveled with passports, phone & wallet while overseas. They are quite stylish cargo pants and were on special at the time. https://www.kathmandu.co.nz/mens/clothing/pants-and-shorts/federate-men-s-cargo-pants.html

2 pointsThanks for your input but in case you missed it, its not my car and I'm just trying to help a widow sell her husbands 850 which would be only 1 of a few in NZ. The whole purpose of this thread is to work out a value for her hence why it's in the discussion section and not the for sale section. I'll let you get back to your day job

1 pointStill battling with my remote locking. I had Geoff Grey check it out and they have confirmed a dud reciever in the interior mirror. I have been querying trademe parts adverts and also the North Island wreckers but no joy. I'm after a mirror that has the 315hz radio frequency system rather than the infra red. My part number is 51 03 16 7 065 486. Any help would be appreciated.

1 pointFrank, can you list what is still to do on the ute? That might help with value.

1 pointHah. Sedan is my old car. Have had two e34 540is, both of which are now manual. A cosmos one that was sold with mpars, now running a 420g and schnitzers. And this. Bought this car standard from an old guy on the kapiti coast, tidied it up and lowered it. Good to see it getting some love, of you decide to get rid of it let me know.

1 pointI'm the kind that says "if you need a socket, buy a set" and I was hoping to avoid having to buy yet another set of sockets. I mean I could do worse of course, new tools and all. ? Propane is supplied as LPG, it's as good as it gets before you get to oxy-fuels, pretty much the same temp as butane (edit: and I realise I said I'd purchased a "butane" torch before, my bad). I forgot to mention it was a good excuse to get a new tool! The plan (before I started) was that the hubs would come off easily enough... I thought they'd be difficult but not rhino difficult. The axle is now free enough that it'll actually slide out the back side of the hub now with enough force so it's no longer any good to press (pull) against. Thanks! I've done most of that (pretty much by trial and error), puller against axle with (a lot of) tension on the hub and flame around the flange, flange was hot enough to make WD40 sizzle on application... no budge. And now the axle has loosened up and slides freely within the hub so can't be used for purchase. ? I'll try and wind them off, I think a bearing splitter should work as a backing plate if I can find a 80-100mm one for good value. Oh, AND A NEW TOOL! ???

1 pointWhat’s there to elaborate on? If you drive the car every day, then use Gull 98. If you don’t, and I don’t, then use Gull 98 at your peril. The ethanol coagulates and causes grief to engine components and parts.

1 point@treone haha i was seriously contemplating this, did a bit of online research and some guy in Russia has custom made a trafer case to fit a 420g box to keep it AWD, i thought about as it and wouldnt be too hard to make RWD but feel the X5 are big and heavy with the AWD helps it out a lot. @qube I sure have, i really need to just focus on one project though, this is getting a bit crazy, I dont have enough space. @BM WORLD Yes your correct i would need a bigger spline clutch disc, would look at getting the 240mm m5 ones that come out behind the s62 or aftermarket one from speedfactor. if you got more picture yeah send them my way Also another small update, so spent today during my breaks sorting the window issue and it was just the window had popped off the bolt that holds it in so wasn't getting pushed up. Thats all fixed now and i took it for a good spin and can't find anything wrong with the gearbox, which i was told would go into limp mode on downshifts. So yeah pretty much have a mint running X5 4.4 that ill be getting a wof tomorrow. It has a better head unit in it with reverse camera, so ill just pass this one on to the parents and just need to strip the one car AND look what Austin just sent me a picture of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy

1 pointGosh how does everyone have such a different experience of Paris than I had?? Absolutely hated the place, expensive, super rude people and dirty as f**k everywhere (rats running around in Mcdonalds like they just ordered a Happy Meal) And if you are of Asian descent be prepared to be ignored by nearly everyone there that you ask for help. Even a nice gesture of picking up a lady’s dropped scarf and running across the road to give it to her nearly earned me a slap in the face and a I am going to call the police on you as a thank you (actually also had the cops nearly called on me because I handed in a lost cell phone from a train because they thought I’d stolen it) It’d be the last place I’d want to visit in Europe. Granted the Museums are awesome but other than that be prepared to be disappointed. Even the Taxi driver that drove us to the airport told us not to bother to visit Paris but to go to Southern France next time. How come nobody’s mentioned Spain?? I’ve heard so many great things about it from virtually everyone that have been. Need to visit myself to see if true! And yes Rome is a must ... I too can watch Italians all day lol!! But as they say you don’t build Rome in a day so spend a few days there and walk around - it’s the best way to see the city. Don’t know if they still do Rome passes but it allows you to skip some really long queues if you have one.

1 pointOktoberfest is on during that time so thats a good enough reason to visit Munich otherwise it is a beautiful city. If you are planning to go the BMW museum, there are no signs but it is closed on Mondays
