Haha my kid neighbors showed this to me the other day. They play a lot of minecraft and know I listen to a lot of metal (Attempting to influence them into metal) Many bands are streaming live concerts btw. Been watching quite a few. Also been watching some of the V8 Supercars drivers stream iRacing comps. Indy eSeries was good. V8's start soon. Watched the Tiger King on netflix. Now that is some serious train crash tv. We have like 3 plex servers running. One is about 65tb. They are all automated and the extended family is just hammering them and loving it. Also playing Motorsport Manager whilst I work.

It's not hard but if you haven't done before definitely see a pro. If you're looking for a recommendation, I'd say Seth at Tint Lab (used to be Car Folie). He has extensive experience in this - I know, because he did my rear screen a few times way back when. How hard / risky was it? I want to remove my tint, but its like 15+ years old and I'm scared of damaging the demister. I'd pay someone to do it, but scared they might too.

Today finally tackled the ugly blue titanium tips on the end of my M3's backbox. The agency power boxes come with only one option for tips, that being a burnt titanium blue finish. Little bit too racer boy for me however one came up recently on trademe for cheap and it was a V1 version of the agency power muffler which is pretty rare. Couldn't pass it up, the downsides being a bent flange and the ugly tips. With all the extra time in the quarantine, today I decided to drill out the rivets, take the tips off and see what I could do about the blue. Set up with a wire brush wheel and it came out awesome! Also seems the agency power logo is etched into the titanium so even after taking the blue finish off, the logo remained. Bonus. Pop riveted them back on with slightly bigger aluminium rivets I had lying around. If I had known it would come out this good I would have taken a proper before and after. Tips are still a bit wonky as is expected with early AP section 3's but major improvement.

Yep. Leaves much less residue over. Downsides are it can lift fabrics (as it loosens glue). Steamer, plastic blades and prepsol made this job much easier than it should have been.

When we're all allowed out to play again after Covid-19, and it's okay to go to the pub, you guys (@IainR and @Haggisman) should join us for monthly pub night (BMW Car Club NZ with Bimmersport - all welcome), and the meets/cruises/drives/trips that we organise. Pub night is first Thursday each month in Johnsonville, though understandably on-hold at the moment with the lockdown. The Welly crew are pretty active in the Lower north Island and the club is active Nationally and re-igniting in the south island too. Your car looks like a bundle of fun, @IainR. Gave the headlights a bit of a tickle up with Chemical guys all in one headlight treatment. Came up alright.

Awesome, thats my cars sister! Manual NZ new cars are rocking horse sh*t, one of 13, glad its getting looked after, was a good buy. Welcome to the cool kids club The only difference to mine from the dealer is mine got the aero pack rear spoiler (and mine has 175,000 more k's on the clock!) Id be interested in the BMW Performance backbox if you want to sell it. Demand world wide for them would be pretty high, but limited market in NZ. It'd be worth a couple of hundred if not beaten up.

Swapped a sedan for a touring...

Tidied up and installed some Bosch smiley's in the wagon today. These replace the bullseyes which were a touch faded and some of the adjusters a bit rusty. Made me happy (excuse the pun). Will have think about whether I put the washer system back in also but it does look cleaner without it.

Now it's all good to go and legal the 'vert has had a hissy fit and decided not start. Took it to work the other day for the first run out this year, got home, went to put it away in the garage, no start. Absolutely nothing, no clicking solenoid, squat. A week on charge (with a good quality intelligent charger) and it's telling me it's fully charged - but still nothing. Uh-oh, starter...? Immobiliser...? Something else..? Whacking starter with hammer, made no difference. Really felt like taking to the car with the hammer, but just stopped myself. Another week or so on charge, using the "refurb" mode and I've not got a clicking relay, but nothing else. Fingers crossed a bit more time on the charger will bring it back to life, if not, it looks like new battery time. Remind me again why I 'like" classic cars...??
