My latest e39 revival, a 96 528. Today I re-installed a replacement electric rear blind, after having also spray dyed the parcel shelf. Was a b#@ch to get out but went back in a lot easier... It even works !! Also tackling a multitude of clear coat scratching with wet sand plus the 3 step 3M cut & polish, long way to go...

Replaced the bootlid on Miss M's E46. Having managed to find one the right colour, it was a shame that the PO had taken shears to all the wiring, but never mind - fed the existing wiring through all the boot cavities. Doesn't fit perfectly, but it's pretty close. and looks a lot better than the original one

I remember the Bentley saying disconnect the dme harness rather than fuel pump relay but im sure either would suffice, remove spark plugs, hook up batt charger and crank at 20 or 30s intervals until the oil pressure light goes out

Anti scrape detail, polish and phone camera makes it looks in much better condition than it is. Going for that fake BMW Advert look.

Watched 4 episodes of Hanna yesterday evening. Will probably watch more tonight. Great series.

You're smoking more than that M engine on a cold start!

Yeah it's an 8k car. And I don't think drift tax comes into play. Drift tax is for cars that are already capable drift cars. I can't believe I never had one of S13s stolen. I left them all over the place. No alarms. One sat in an unsecure underground carpark in the viaduct for 2 years with hardly any use. Not touched. Do wish I had kept one though. But I used the money to get into E30 racing. No regrats.

The 335i will make the more comfortable and reliable daily... until you get hooked on modifying it and thrashing it, then it'll start eating up your bank account When stuff does break on the 335i, it'll be much more expensive than the E30. But it should be less frequent so that should balance it out!

335i would likely be the better daily driver for obvious reasons. If its had its common failures sorted it should be fairly reliable, otherwise you may have budget a chuck $ for potentially expensive repairs and get your hands dirty. E30\M20 is a joy to work on compared to the E90\N54 and is just about as reliable and well build as a BMW gets, the turbo setup may or may not be though depending on time\money put into it. E30 would certainly be the more engaging car to daily if you not sitting in traffic. In saying all that i don't think anyone can really say all the much without knowing the specifics of each car. You'd have to drive both and decide for yourself at the end of the day as everyone has their own preferences.

Altered Carbon is a good watch. Very Bladerunnerish. Went back and watched True Detective series 1. Quite enjoyable and gritty. And not the usual scenes of NYC or LA. They portrait some of the south very well. Been watching many YouTube videos of Americans getting hold of mid 90s Jap sports cars that were previously illegal to import. Quite funny that they are doing the same sh*t we were doing 25 years ago. And thinking they are the first to do it...

Mid way through the lock-down and I'm jealous of those with car projects underway. I did a search of my garage and found 2 sets of Bushes for the pedal supporting bracket. Add these to my new black pedal set, I've gota project. This project all going well should take 1-3 hrs, I stretched it out for 4 days (more pictures added) Slacker

Not sold personally, car still looks outstanding though! I am battling with the same big questions today - smoked or orange indicators?

Some issues are bigger than commercial rivalry.
