Looking to sell my E28 and was after some thoughts on realistic pricing. Its a 86 525e with 176000kms, very tidy original condition inside and out, full documented dealership service history from 1991, everything works and drives like new. Seeing as these don't come up often its hard gauge were the market is, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers mate. FWIW I did this refurb for around 900 including professional polish on the barrels. I had a local paint shop mix the paint and clear into spray cans and a mate and I painted the faces. I did all the sanding and prep myself. defo affordable compared to the various quotes I got for between 1700 and nearly 3 grand. I nearly jumped on those ones on market place too.

No idea what it’s worth, but that is one seriously awesome example of a very cool car! GLWS.

Use Realoem.com to get part numbers, chuck them into FCPEuro, Schmiedmann etc, and order from overseas. Alternatively, call your local dealer, or autolign. yellow.co.nz

They're a lot more fun than they look. Unless you hate how they look it would be worth taking a couple for a drive.

Last week was very exciting, the wheels were painted in a color matched silver and coated in 2K clear. left to dry / cure for just over 48 hours before gentle re-assembly. A local tire shop fitted the Pilot Sport 4s back on with no issues or marring at all. I think they look amazing, the whole car is in need of a good wash before I take some decent pics. and thanks to @hqstu for the lending of the M5 wheels while i worked on these. Clear going on Looking good with 2 coats of base and clear applied Thanks to some awesome maching of barrels and the edge of the faces reassembly went very smooth bolts in and torqued down freshly remounted, car needs a decent wash then more pics will be posted. packed up and ready to go get the tires fitted to the refreshed wheels ( they are in the boot and backseat)

Might have a motor in this week LSD ready to go in. Had it in last night but had a minute crack on rear housing so had to swap it over, went for a 3.25 ratio. Was going for a 3.46 but car will be more of a road car now E30 325 axles getting regreased, what a fun job trying to get all the ball bearings back in is

I mainly watch 'silly / fun' car stuff on Youtube like Carwow / Donut Media / Hoonigan etc But for genuine quality, Henry Catchpoles Carfection videos are brilliant.

New filter and second fluid change has greatly improved the driving experience, the trans engages a lot quicker when moving away and I got it to break traction!! Now I will have to tackle the ugly patches of rust/ missing bog / spray can touch ups on the body work....

You should be buying the E28 m-tec kit on TM first SJ!
