Me and my wife went to watch and took photos of some cars on Shelly Bay Seal Sprint. There was this nice blue M3 that was racing. By any chance the driver/owner is on bimmersport or knows him? More photos here of other cars that are not BMWs https://photos.app.goo.gl/3KXS1rtguZ4GZxPB9

Yeah that sucks, depending on your time frame though may be able to help out, have got a nice running 530I sitting here that I'm pulling the motor for for a project, that'll end up having to be purpose built anyway. Would be happy to trade motors if you wanna bring yours down and give me a hand to pull this one out complete, I'll take your one and rebuild it for what I want and you can grab this good runner, drop it in and go.

some mixed success today... needed petrol for the mower already, and no parts cars with gas in at the moment. So filled the 320d as well, got 12L in which is pretty crazy for over 300km already on this tank! So leak is ruled out, must be the sender that is faulty. scanned the gauge cluster and turns out there is a sender code there already so there we go! will need further investigation once i do a LOT of kms to burn thru all this diesel! Hopefully not deisel and/or touring specific! and I brought a trade in ladder today, so sent it on its first "job" (never ming the bird dirt on the bumper, an impressive hit i must say)

A lot has happened over the year and a half that this car has been in my possession. Some parts of it extremely embarrassing, but some I am also quite proud of. Around this time last year I went through pulled the cut up head unit wiring loom out of the car, yes the whole thing, and replaced it with that of a less molested car. Wanted that premium factory looking head unit: Some time very close to this I had the whole AC system regassed Then I made a fatal mistake and cooked the motor, like proper cooked cooked. Completely my own fault but lets not get into that: Anyway a new motor was acquired, and before I put it in I had the head rebuilt, and gave the engine a general tidy up and paint and replaced all the gaskets: In the same time I have also got some H&R springs for the car: It's been back together now for over 6 months, and I have been doing problem free driving for the whole time. I have noticed that I am getting another small oil leak coming from the front timing cover, and the seals I replaced on the gearbox aren't doing too much, but for my sake that's going to be ignored for now. Since then I have bought a set of BBS RKs for the car (that came with a free e39 540 that I have been working on) and I have now started doing a sounds upgrade (that I will get into in the next post since its quite text based): Yea that's it... Looking for some clear fronts to match the rears, that's about it. Happy with how it looks, and it handles pretty decent too. Do think that the H&Rs are maybe a bit too harsh for me, but I'll ride them out for now.

Big week for the car this week with a new wheel carrier, right lower control arm, rear carrier ball joint and integral links and Vanos oil line. Turns out my clicking was actually coming from 2 (TWO!) busted sleeves in the carrier. one on the lower control arm and one on the Thrust arm. massive thanks to @Eagle for the installation help. some other niggles have presented themselves such as the DISA needs a rebuild and worn sway bar bushings. Parts on order! in other project new, I have all the bits for my headlight rebuild on the Xenon’s, just need some free time to do it.

Here’s something you certainly don’t see everyday, especially on a grey Thursday morning! First Lagonda I’ve ever seen in person.

Hi, I have just brought a e39 that I’m wrecking out for the gearbox, it has a Racing Dynamics kit, pretty subtle and stylish… the car is in transit to me, I should get it in another week. brent

227,000km WOF time. Failed on a leaking front left shock. This was pretty annoying as they are only 14k old but it seems the dust boot has shredded and maybe got sucked into the shock breaking the seal. Looking back through this thread you can see the dust boots the shop put on originally are very baggy…classic scenario of $10 part shags a $300 shock. Anyway, new shock in (another Bilstein B4) with a new (bmw specific this time) dust boot and new ‘updated’ E46 wipers from BMW and the WOF sticker is on! And off to Bunnings for some insulation to make the house healthy homes compliant.

So! After finishing renovating our kitchen, O finally got the garage emptied and cleaned out this morning and got the 530i in the garage. Whipped the rocker cover off and made a home made leakdown tester to find it all headed out the exhaust. Had a look and found a valve spring seat sitting in there, and the spring just flapping around, as well as the other exhaust cam follower flapping around. How likely am I to be able to replace the springs and be good to go? My guess is the valves and seats will be toasted. For the cost of a head off, new bolts, threads time-Certed, valves and seats etc it’s not going to be worth fixing and will probably part it out, not that I want to, but I only got it to get it back in the road and sell it on.
