Fun parts starting to pile up. Manual conversion stuff all ready to go. Brakes stripped down ready for some paint Factory 325ti specific exhaust and have the 6 cylinder compact specific front sway bar as well. Scored a facelift rear hatch in alpine white which looks much sportier than the prefacelift version imo, still need to find some facelift tail lights to go on. Will be doing a factory wiper delete as well convert to a RF key instead of the shitty IR key at the same time since the FZV module is in the hatch on the compacts. Ordered a manual cluster from Greece on ebay for 100NZD shipped, I'll steal the manual blank cluster panel from it and use the 330 cluster rings so the car so the car will essentially have a 330 manual cluster as it should. Haven't had time to pull the motor out of the 330 yet, I'm hoping either over the long weekend or the weekend after I'll get to it. Then I'll do a big parts order, refresh the motor and hopefully have the 330ti ready by Christmas. In the meantime, it's actually nice to have an economical daily for once...

Hi all, I have just ordered a G81 M3 Touring, my first ever BMW. In fact it will be the second BMW I have ever driven, the first being the demo G80 M3 Comp xDrive sedan from the dealership. This car is my dream car, and I am really looking forward to enjoying it for a long time.

Hey team, I'm looking for recommendations for an engine builder who can put together a M20B25 2.7ltr stroker, preferably in the North Island. I have the engine all in bits (minus a few of the ancillary bits eg. water pump, fuel rail, etc) as well as all the components to make it 2.7ltr (conrods from a m20b20, crank from a 2.8ltr m52, etc). I have no idea how to competently put it together. Going to use this in my '71 2002.

Ahhh, the Phoenix Yellow e46 m3. Was the red headed step child of the BMW world for years. But was also the poster image that BMW used in their marketing material at the time of production. Certainly a polarising colour, but I've always loved it! (but not with a light coloured interior)

There's 3 known ones iirc. Not sold new, all imports either Singapore or UK. The 5 door is better in a lot of usability ways, and for parts. In the 3-door, door seals are pretty average with a lot of wind noise and poverty spec interior on imports unless ex UK. Then you want xenons and msport. Back seats are useless in the 3 door, in 5 door slightly more useful. Only slightly. They do look better stock though. With an aero spoiler on either there's not much in it. Personal pref after years of ownership, and 3 130i, would be a 5 door with aero spoiler. I don't recommend buying a car out of Singapore just fyi

Awesome! an Isle of Man Green G81 is an incredible looking car - perhaps not the most 'classically' beautiful, but a genuine head turner with insane performance and practicality 😎

7 Years in Japan, not a mark on it. 1 week in NZ already chipped and scratched. Gah!

I went into the ballot for a GR Corolla and never got lucky. I was less than amused when I saw them start to appear on Trade-Me later being sold "for personal reasons..." Yeah right, about 76000 personal reasons... 😒

Hahah thanks, I should be fine. Got a pair and also fitted the sender unit (or whatever the second device is the other side of the fuel pump) with a new seal and lock ring so they're both nice and fresh. I did get that wand kit to go with the cavity wax. It is a right long schlong. The garage door was open at times but don't remember it being particularly windy. Seem to have gotten a better hang of it as the job's progressed and the latest welds are looking pretty decent. Made some more progress. Other side chassis rail plate got welded in along with the bottom beam plate and cylindrical bits, all primed and ready for the final plate to go on. I've been conveniently ignoring the rear seat floor area so far. Not too keen on tearing up more seam sealer and cutting up the floor but should really just get it done with, although the touring already has sort of a front beam by default so should be less prone to failures in that area. Also started assembling the front Bilstein B4 shocks with Eibach springs. Got done with the first one, then as I was tightening the top nut I realised I hadn't done the priming by compressing it 3 times... Silly goat. Not sure how much it matters but will take apart again and redo just to be safe.

Nice, the green is a very cool colour. Please keep us updated as the build progresses.

Yes it is a factory order and no I have not received a build slot yet. The colour is Isle of Man Green with black wheels, black brake calipers and a black leather interior.

Time for the yearly TLC for the ‘vert whilst the weather is not so flash On this year’s list a bit of panel and paint for a few bits and pieces - bonnet (to remove the dent in he middle where it fell on the battery charger 🤬), boot, high stop lamp and the Tech I spoiler insert. Also pulled the rear bumper off to give it a good clean and check behind it. Had a bit of a panic when I saw what I thought was some serious rust in the bottom left corner of the boot when I took the bumper off. Turned out to be rust from something that had been stored in there and got wet, stuck in some waxy gunk. Came off when I gave it a vigorous clean and picked at it with a plastic scraper - phew! Also found a Travis CD stuck in the boot when I took the stacker out..

Someone sold 2008 E81 130i auto with 78000km for $7k a couple months ago. I wonder if the new owner is on this forum? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/269550642107010/?mibextid=nb1MFm3jZYALyyMy
