BEWARE!!! this vehicle does not look like that at all. I have the pictures of the current state and a lot is missing compared to those photos. i.e no front end, smashed bonnet etc... @Olaf if you need any parts, let me know as we have a vehicle at work that is quite complete

Doesnt worry me, can do either. A bit easier to keep the heat input low with the tig though. When do you need it done?

I just put some 68s on my E46 with some pilot sport 4 tyres. I keep going out and staring at my car. A great looking wheel. Of no help whatsoever to your sale sorry!

Could be a good project for someone. Also, such a weird question "Hello will those headlights go onto a BMW645ci ? mastertechno (179 ) 3:24 pm, Wed 9 Aug" :/

Yup, 490 is the code for the fully individual paint colours, where you have to specify exactly what colour you want so it doesn't have a standard paint code. It was a BMW NZ fleet car at the start of it's life, which is strange as it is well outside the usual company colour scheme! Very nice looking E46, but not $17k nice.

Thanks Pete, I appreciate your kind words. Perhaps I should get a sheepskin coat an an Arthur Daley Homburg hat ? Driscoll had used green coolant, it was indeed replaced in that big service you had done last year. I only had it changed to BMW coz I'm fussy. I figured the batty wasn't that old (found a new batty terminal cover in the boot), but as I'd managed to flatten it unexpectedly, thought it was better checked out. The car's nearly where I want it; driving very close to a new one. Though my wife did wonder aloud yesterday how much I'd spent on it since acquisition (!) Hell, it was circa $160 or 170k when new. At 10+ years of age and circa 100k miles, cars like that can't be run like a Camry... or if they are, not for very long!

I had replace the battery not too long ago. Pretty sure it has only had BMW coolant . . . Driscolls use BMW coolant in Bimmers. They gave me a bottle gratis at one point for top ups. The diligence with which you maintain your vehicles has to make you one of the best people to buy a car off! Always a good plan to buy off an enthusiast.

Yup - it's like a Nissan Terrano R3R with a big spoiler and air dam. Just no.

I find https://www.schmiedmann.com/ the best. They are nearly always the cheapest, freight is reasonable, and delivery is fast. Just make sure each order is under $400 nz including shipping or you will get stung with gst and customs charges, and it will take longer to get delivered.

come on Kyu, where are the photos showing how awesome this thing looks, and the wheels you're actually including in the sale! And if the plates aren't included, get the new ones on! We're all gagging for the temptation of a big 5er touring...

@GorGasm that's actually pretty cool, though the jury's still out on the interior (the backseat looks like a 70s couch lol)

Scammers. Maybe we need a minimum post limit before selling something to stop scammers?

I installed the XYZ stuff the other day at as near to standard height as I could manage in the limited time I had. I need to check the front preload as I got a little ahead of myself. Managed to knock over a big pry bar as I was getting ready to install and broke a finger, which made the job a little annoying and took longer than anticipated. I am very happy thus far with the results, car is a bit stiffer but has far nicer bump control. Less rotation under trail braking and more traction Will get it in for a proper alignment ASAP To begin with will run the factory alignment settings with a small camber increase in the front, I feel this will be a good base line. I have noted down all the corner heights and damper settings Have a very small preload on the rear to reduce risk of the spring perch walking around, Will look in to fixing this to the arm as I do not care so much for the current set up Will not be lowering it without doing roll center calculations, I do not imagine this is something BMW did wrong. Have an autocross to attend in the coupe in a few weeks, so I need to do engine/gearbox oils Power steering flush, it's a wee bit noisy and the fluid is absolutely rooted New pads and a bleed, the new suspension has only further highlighted the lack of braking performance Throw the semis on Didn't get time after work today to do anything but wash the two beasts and snap some pictures on my potato phone
