Maybe call me cynical, or even drunk (drunk is more likely) but I feel too many people buy into the internet hype. Not all M3s have vanos, smg, bearing issues and people get too excited to shoot them down for not having these issues address. There are thousands of these engines about and and I can guarantee Alot of them are ok and had no issues whatsoever, there a plenty on eBay with 160k+ miles still demanding good money

Hey all, Put the deposit down a couple weeks ago on a new custom spec M140i Shadow Edition, although due to a number of reasons it won't arrive until July. Been a company car driver for 15 years, it's amazing how unfussy you get with cars when someone else is paying for everything. Before that I was a real little petrolhead - MR2 Turbo, SR20DET Silvia S13, Soarer 1UZFE etc) but this will be my first BMW. New car hasn't been built yet obviously, but it will look very similar to this, only visual differences will be the sunroof and the internal trim being brushed aluminium rather than gloss black. Look forward to talking with you all and hopefully going to a few meets once it arrives! Cheers, Daniel.

Got myself a little present. She's kind of little. 2012 m135i, 55000km, full Alcantara interior etc. This thing sure is fun! Very tidy overall. Loving it so far. Will post some better photos later. Got 4yrs mechanical warranty on it

Slight update- Style 24s have since been sold and replaced with BBS RK 17x8s. I've also replaced the front control arms as the old ones were knackered. Pro tip- if doing this job, it is made 10x easier if you spray some CRC/WD40 on the thread before you try and remove the outer balljoint that connects onto the hub.. the first one took me a while. I also had a good friend of mine polish the car to bring up the Cosmo Schwartz shine. It's coming along slowly but surely.

Agreed. I’ve nothing to hide when selling and always appreciate history and disclosure when purchasing but there’s always a whiff of knock em down on the question and answer page. “Have you had the flux capacitor serviced?”

The reason people here are sensitive to asking questions on tardme, is that no one asking them is actually interested in buying the car, they just want to sabotage the sale. Someone genuinely interested will directly contact the seller, as mentioned above.

Good points made above. I’m on the fence regarding the Q & A section. I understand it’s purpose, but it’s not always used effectively. I always make the opportunity to contact the seller directly. If they can’t make their phone number available, I will email them. I don’t feel it’s wasting time. I generally get a good feel from the seller (or if I’m selling, from the buyer) through this approach as to how genuine they are.

I think you're being sensibly cautious rather than picky @Karter16, these are all important pre-purchase considerations. I don't see why people are so sensitive to such questions which you're entitled to ask and would be foolish not to. The Q&A section is for precisely this purpose so shouldn't get people's backs up. No need to arrange to see the car or waste the seller's time if it fails your first hurdle. On the other hand if the answer is "yep, all done and I have $7k worth of receipts to prove it" then that helps everybody. Although I do agree that trolling auctions for the sake of being disruptive isn't on.

Hi Francois do you know if these would fit a e34 wagon? Thanks

215,000 km. I was able to get in touch with FCP before they shipped it out and canceled the order...probably saved me $120 in postage alone. Thanks @BreakMyWindow ..I gotta stop being lazy and keep cross referencing realOEM. After messaging with Martin and Russell I think I'm just going to live with the clonk for abit longer...hopefully it gets worse making it abit more obvious to what it is. In other news, gave it a clean this morning.

I once drove a car that had a blown head gasket, it eventually stopped when the cylinder head got so hot the distributor cap MELTED and started drooping onto the rotor! It takes a lot more than 5 minutes to do that.

So it's just not firing? 1 kilometer from cold? The coolant wouldn't even be a factor over that distance. Heck, you could probably run it with no oil over that distance and not do permanent damage (perhaps - don't try this). And it's a Toyota. Maybe just fill up the washer bottle and give the bumper a kick?
