  1. No..not open.. I was there at 3.00 this morning and came home at 11.00 Its about 2" shorter
  2. You can use the M10 oil filter Andrew
  3. Peter..most people dont want to screw around with their cars and create issues for themselves. I know Kelvin the OP and I dont think this is something he wants to do to his nice, tidy E46. There is a minority that would want to do this kind of thing and I'd think they would ask. Kelvin the OP is asking so he knows what to look for or ask for when buying new wheels for his car.
  4. Did you do this ?? If not, do it http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_techtip/...check_valve.htm
  5. Your Jatco transmission needs G3 full synthetic. I would also suggest you replace the filter and pan gasket as well. After removing the filter, let it drain for at least half an hour to get most of the oil out of the torque convertor and valve body. You will need between 4 & 6 litres and a hand pump to put it in the gearbox. After filling it (while the car is running) run it through the gears and recheck level. Then road test and recheck level. The process is best done on a hoist or on 4 axle stands
  6. The whistle from the turbo when its spooling up is normal
  7. I dont want to sound like I'm raving on...but driving the car to work this morning with no traffic to deal with I was able to have a little play..I'm amazed at the flexibility of the the engine now. Even in fourth gear from 1500 rpm the torque and acceloration is amazing. 100kph is 2,600 rpm in top gear as predicted and even in fifth from 1500 rpm it pulls on speed very quickly. I would now say, even though its lacking a few cc's it would give an M3 a run for its money. I would definately not want to go the M50 manifold conversion to get a little more HP at top end and loose the torque or flexibilty of the engine. It has cost me alot to do the conversion, however, its like driving a different car now and I'm over the moon with the results. I'll get the AC regassed on Monday and then get the exhaust system redone with a dual pipe system, twin tips and get the diffuser modified and then it'll be all finished. Also fitting the solid caster bushes has given the car a whole new feel up front. Probably also due to the fact I've lost alot of weight in the car. I think a wheel alignment would also be prudent to do as well. Its probably also time now to get Gavin @ High Velocity to do a dyno & remap now. Might do that in a couple of weeks. I'd like to thank those who have made nice comments on the thread Thanks to my staff as well and to the people who helped with all of this: Ray from HellBM for the conversion kit Dave (Silverfox) for the LSD Brent (Brent HARTGE535i) for the diff Diff Specs for setting up the diff Rob @ UUC Motorwerks in the USA for the flywheel & tech info Barry @ Team McMillan Spare parts for sorting out all my new parts with a really special deal Driveshaft Specialties in Andromeda Cres. For getting the driveshaft done really quickly for me A special thanks to Parcel Post...."has my parcel (flywheel) arrived yet ?" .... "no it's not here yet" and that was after I had fitted it It truley has been a rewarding experience.... I learnt alot as well
  8. Do it with the M3... I can give you contact details.. get rid of the dual mass
  9. You might need very deep pockets as well
  10. After driving the car home tonight... I'm amazed at the acceleration and flexibility of the car now. Lighter in the front. up about 30mm. Firmer with the solid castor bushes. The engine pulls like a schoolboy, the torque and engine spin up is amazing. Honestly this is great. I'm dam sure the diff ratio I chose was spot on. I'm lucky the grin on my face hasnt cracked from the corner of my mouth to my ear lobes. Just need to weed out the new idiocyncracies (spelling) of the vehicle in its new configeration.. have to watch the reaction of the LSD...especially in the wet on corners and round abouts (no weight in the rear) I"M LOVIN IT BTW: Stick your M50 manifold conversions.... I LOVE TORQUE
  11. Sounds like youve got a good puller at home Keen... But... you can pull it yourself.... you wont hurt yourself pulling your knob.. people just make issues about it because they are cautious of the mess they can make in there cars... its easy ... we do it all the time
  12. Seriously...I have to let everything bed in properly. Skids to come
  13. WELL>>>> WHAT CAN I SAY SHES ALL SWEET
  14. Weve done them when the drives fail. A little difficult...but should be able to be done..depending on the seat position...or as you said try swapping the switches... this I havent done , but worth a try. There is no manual drive...the motors must be powered up
  15. Yay...driveshafts ready.... skids in an hour ...I mean drive
  16. Can do today...ring me
  17. Bush set $220 +Gst. We can fit them in half an hour...with a special tool

    Rampant Phase III

Lookin good Graham...beer counts getting up there... mines only about 10 to do my conversion
  19. You would need a WDS (oops) disc so that you can check wiring diagrams of both vehicles by specific chassis #. I think you may have problems with canbus though and you might have to go Link. All I can say is research, research, research... it probably has been done...very expensive though
  20. Its just easier to pull it up in the neutral position
  21. Just a sharp hard pull towards the sky will release it.
  22. Correct... I dont have an E30 in the workshop. I was looking at an E36 one and presumed (bad word) You are right...just the geebo end need encapturing
