  1. How about reducing the size of your signature......... " as per Forum Rules " And to the OP a price and picture is required in the For Sale section.. as Kaz said...."Forum Rules "
  2. I saw this on a Motorhome forum and thought it may help some of you with your DIY removal jobs. It might work on wrap jobs too- maybe
  3. What motor ? M43 or N42 ??
  4. Do any of the warning lights for ABS, DSC/ASC and handbrake warning lights come on or flash when this occurs ?
  5. Trifecta as in 3 lights on the dash ? or do you mean something else ? Did you have fault codes when this happened?. If you did what were they. I'm curious because I've never come across this before. ABS ASC / DSC control unit, pump motor and valving faults normally trigger a fault code.
  6. Was the ABS or ASC / DSC light on Josh
  7. Unlikely, unless the ABS light is on. I'd check for sticking calliper slides and pistons first. I doubt that changing the brake fluid will rectify the problem as well. If you can get it to play up on axle stands you might be able to isolate which wheel. If you can isolate it, check for line pressure after releasing the brakes by opening the bleeder screw. If there is no line pressure it will be a sticky piston or calliper slide. Check that the front brake hoses are not twisted.
  8. We drain the master cylinder first , refill with new fluid, then bleed till the new fluid comes through with constant top up. We use a compressed air operated vacuum pump that allows one man operation and I will never use a pressure bleeding system on brakes. Years ago one exploded a plastic reservoir in a workshop and damaged 4 cars with brake fluid. Pumping it through can also cause issues. 9. Diagnose the fault properly and then purchase to rectify or postpone the same problem
  10. Cock up = pay..... $200 hundy is a bit over the top. We would charge $20- $50 dependant on your attitude or gender BTW: The correct tool that is used to do this can cost between between $500 & $12,000 dollars
  11. You need a scanner to check DSC & ACS fault codes , but you don't need a scanner to bleed E39 brakes

    Ouch !

I wonder whether the driver was the owner or not. A lot off crap is going down in SA at the moment
  13. They aren't sealed at all and quite serviceable, but hardly anyone does. It may be terminal if it's slipping and need rebuilding. I would check oil level first and not throw money at it till you can determine what is actually wrong. Contact your local Auto Trans specialist.
  14. It should cycle on and off and normal temperature 90'-95'
  15. Sounds like a torque convertor lock up issue. Cruising at 100kph and pressing the throttle should make the lock up clutch disengage and bring the revs up by around 200rpm

  18. Someone might have second hand lying around . You tried these guys ?? http://www.nzmarine.com/directory/business/transdiesel
  19. Speed in a displacement type boat is restricted by hull design. You can fit double the design HP in a displacement launch or yacht and it will still only do it's maximum displacement speed due to hull design. You'll probably just end up sinking it as the prop will push the stern down, not forward . Motor / prop / hull design is a drawing board calculation with a lot of experience included. The MS is a Solar isn't it Nath ??.
  20. Back on topic What brand, model and history on the boat ???... Engine & trans configuration, launch, motor sailor, yacht etc ???
  21. Go fishing, pull the plug, get into a dinghy, have a beer and put a line over the side and catch a cold. Works all the time and gets rid of an old piece of sh*t.. (Perkins)
