So did E36 328i's & some M3's as far as I know

I've never seen one leak like that before. They normally leak from the seal or plug. A faulty sensor won't trigger the engine check light, but the fault will be stored in the DME or Kombi memory though and would be picked up at service time if the service is carried out by someone who knows what they are doing
-
That could be residue from the work previously done, or else it's still leaking from the rocker cover
-
The performance box shouldn't be there. A picture might help. The MAF sensor and plug may not be original
-
Common leaks: Rocker cover gasket Oil filter "O" ring seal Oil filter remote housing Vanos hose Loose vanos actuator Loose timing chain tensioner Cracked or broken breather hoses Oil separator valve Dipstick breather hose Front crank seal Sump gasket
-
If it's leaking from the heater matrix, you might see it dripping from the air con evaporator tray drain underneath the car
-
Thats cheap... in Auckland it's $450 and the robbers down here don't have brains
-
A war dance won't help you fix your car.... it needs to be scanned by someone with a brain to asses the problem
-
Possibly MAF sensor... they sometimes don't throw a fault code. You need to drive it and check live data. Should read around 600kg at WOT under load

Pictures and a price please....Forum Rules

What scanner was used and was the car driven and live data checked ?? With all this bad weather weve been having, your DME might have had a swim... quite common, depending on how it was parked, especially if the drains are blocked
-
After Googling it, I'm sure it means they put a little bit more fuel in for export vehicles, but they don't fill them.
-
We used to take fuel with us when picking up new cars from the wharf X Germany. Doing PD's on all the cars I've worked on, filling the tank with gas was a requirement. Things havent changed from the 80's as far as know
-
I'm not sure thats correct.. I may be wrong though. I'm sure that means long range tank fitted. Most cars are exported from the factory with minimal fuel in the tanks for shipping safety
-
He said he did the plugs. Water should have been evident when he did it, unless the problem has occurred since they were changed
-
You would need to get it scanned first and go from there. Swapping things will only introduce more faults. Get someone up your way to diagnose and maybe fix it for you before it turns into something more major.
-
Sorry Gaz.. didn't realise it's labour weekend. I'm probably not going to be here, depending on the weather, unless you can pick it up earlier
-
I'm not sure. I have never had to deal with this type of problem. Give me a call
