QUOTE" The only light that was on was the one that resembles an engine" ECL= engine check light Where are you located ?
-
Not necessarily.. the codes are the result of an non metered fault which is causing the engine to either run too rich or too lean: Air leaks can be one of them Others: Fuel pressure regulator Fuel pressure or fuel flow MAF sensor- won't always throw a fault code Blocked cats PCV valve BTW: All scanners need an accessory besides the user manual which doesn't come supplied... a brain and automotive technical knowledge
-
Try googling this: BMW fault code 14 & 15 It maybe your scanner. Did you clear the codes, road test and recheck after the ECL came on ? Different scanners interpret codes differently most of the time.. especially the written faults What check light is coming on and what are your concerns over drive ability ?

The pumps normally crap out because the EGR valve is faulty. The diaphragm goes in the valve allowing moisture to get into the pump and damaging the bearings. You will need new or 2nd hand parts and I suggest you replace the EGR filter as well. What is the fault with the pump, just noisy or does it not work ?

The biggest problem you are going to have Will, is the rear parcel shelf panel. Many a nice E30 has been deemed devalued or value less due to the butchering of this panel. It is load bearing and structural to the body design. It is not meant to be drilled, cut or welded in any area other than the welding points at manufacture. It depends on the engineer whether you get away with a reasonable cheap repair or he wants it done to factory specs. When doing a pre-purchase inspection, if I see 6 X 9's the first thing I do is check there. If the panels cut or drilled I normally stop and call the prospective buyer. A few on here can attest to this... some are happy...some are not. I only fix em .. I don't phuk em. I've told so many on here before... check before you dig or drill or cut. -
Change the oil 75w90... let it whine... replace it when it breaks.. or replace it now if it drives you nuts. Are you sure it's the diff and not a wheel bearing ??

Bugger... I just put one out for scrap
-
Was there any errors when the prepurchase inspection was carried out ??... because 91 grade fuel is not going to cause these issues you are having

Ask the people who did the conversion & diff replacement if they could kindly take a look at it. There maybe something loose. BTW: where are you located ?

Has the flap linkage been refitted correctly on the servo motor next to the FSR and has the servo motor been plugged back in ??
