I understand Gavin has done quite a few

While they have the manifold off I would also replace the crank shaft position sensor at the same time. They are prone to failing and the manifold must come off to replace it.
-
Can do it for you... but not for $140... the correct oil costs more than that and a genuine filter is $20 + Gst
-
We use PG Hydraulics in East Tamaki for our work ask for Greg... and yes they are rebuildable

The solenoids shouldn't make a noise the pump motor should make a slight noise without the motor running. You sure it's from that ? The pump needs to be running when you fill and bleed the cooling system on these otherwise you get an airlock in the heater matrix.
-
Climate air heater tap solenoids on top of the auxillary water pump.

Is this the new project car or the donor car Allan ??
-
Its more of a poor design issue really, just like the X5 door handle carriers. I've done 5 of those in 3 weeks
-
Yes... they BREAK... we do between 6 & 10 E46 & X5 door barrels a month. The blade is meant to be for emergency opening only. You should have a working remote key for daily use.
-
About $10 from your local dealer
-
It will only be the remote parts that are missing. The transponder micro chip is probably glued into the key or behind the reader coil on the column. BTW: When the door barrel breaks you will not be able to get into the car if the rear hatch has no manual key barrel in it.
