Bring it in tomorrow and I'll have a quick look. Maybe we can resolve it a little quicker than talking about it on here. Please ring me first though.. any time after 7.00 am

Greg ???

You hold the fan and get a girl to start the car
-
Does the vibration cease if you hold the fan ?... you might need 2 people to do this. Stop engine, hold fan...someone else start and dont rev engine
-
The fan is a possibility. Can also cause the front knock sensor to kick in. I can check it for you next week if you like
-
Who scanned it ??
-
I had a similar reaction when I painted my rear subframe. It was from the diesel heater I used to help dry it. I first thought it was silicon tyre dressing we use in the workshop.

You could try a listing in Trade me Motor Parts Wanted BMW section http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-wanted/bmw

You don't press cab bushes into the lollipop brackets like E36's & E30's. E46's have oil filled CAB bushes that come complete with brackets and they can be damaged if installed incorrectley. Stargirl : If you live in Aucks, give me a call. We can do the installation for you. It's cheap Edit: New Plymouth.. bit far away for me to help you. I suggest you try these guys http://www.autolign.co.nz/NewPlymouth.asp It should not cost more than an hours labour to do both the front lower control arm bushes. There could be more to it though. Sometimes the testing stations are very vague about what they diagnose as being faulty

problem with e36 steering rack into e30
*Glenn* replied to Dingo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Swapping a rack from one car to another, especially from an E36 into an E30 is going to change the alignment. There are always slight differences in components. I would get the alignment checked / done first and work from there. -

Is you car L/H or R/H drive ?... I see you have a mixture over there.. If it's L/H drive it will probably be US spec.

Replacing Valve Cover Gasket - Can't Get Valve Cover Back On
*Glenn* replied to kev_'s topic in Maintenance
I would suggest you get the correct gasket set and also replace all the bolt seals as these are what tension the rocker cover on the gasket. -
As a Ti owner, more would be nice When you first posted there were no photos... sorry I don't make the rules

What motor sports are you going to get involved with Andrew ??
-
You learn something everyday... I've never followed the drift scene
-
No. Copper slip is used on the slide surfaces and pad contact areas with the slides. Wurth do an antisqueel spray to coat the back of the pad surfaces. Good pads that fit correctly shouldn't rattle and the outer calliper spring must be fitted correctly
-
Not always... there is always 2 sides to a storey and in some cases there is a misunderstanding between both parties that gets distorted
-
Here comes a crucifiction... glad it's not me I would consider the work involved to be no more than 4hrs dependant on what was asked for, what was quoted and what actually needed to be carried out. You only present one side of a storey that involves 2 parties
