yeah theyll work fine, dont change your fuses as that will burn out wires, but just bare in mind that they probably wont last as long as a 55w bulb, be prepared to buy new ones in 4-6 months

which beaurepairs? just so i no to stear clear, thats pretty shocking, i would write the letters as lidistick said, but before you do give them a call and see what they say, just a quick call to the store manager, if he blows you off and says he cant do anything, then write your letters, get the names of the people who did the work to.

go on trademe... people dont keep spares of these, ull need to find a manurfacturer, find a fibre glass one and get some one to put it on.

just rip the muffler off, sounds pretty loud, i had one with no exhaust for a while, funny little things, but sounds pretty wierd a blocked muffler being the cause, i would take it off to see if it runs then sort out some type of other muffler for it, probably get one custom made for $550 seems abit overboard.

could also be your imobiliser, ive experienced both, screwed stater motor, replaced it then a few months later imobilizer packed up having the same symptoms as the starter motor failure, test by checking if starter motor is recieving power when the car not turning on by holding a test light or multimeter to the big red wire on the starter motor.

pay more attention in your exams its 25% off the second car at 200 per car take away 25% off the second car makes $350 all up devide that by 2 and you have $175 each like silver fox stated.

id say a wiring issue, somewhere its shorting, i can suggest one place to check if not there then good luck, check the bunch of wires running from your boot lid through to your car, they can cause various issues that ive heard of as the motion of the boot opening can cause wear on the wires.

dont do uniden, been told by some dodgy friends that there easy to bypass, they also told me that dynatron is the hardest and takes about 4-5 hours to bypass, but having said that i have a dynatron but it wasnt installed very well and i could bypass it in less the 20 mins, the trick is not what alarm you buy but how you install it, a good way to install it would be change all coulored wires from your ingnition to black maybe with numbers on them so you know what they do, then have the alarm module hidden so far into the dash that the hole dash would have to be removed, like up behind the insturment cluster or get creative and throw it somewhere completely unthinkablke eg under backseat, then all the wires from that to be black also. i dont think it matters to much what alartm system you get depends more on how you instal it, as i said i have a dynatron i can bypass in 20 mins.

might be a noob question, but what lights are meant to be there when you start you car, in the instrument panel?, ive noticed that alot of people have found that bulbs have been blown, and since i dont know the history to well of my car im not sure whats meant to be there, its a 94 e36 318is, anyone got a picture of what lights are meant to come up when starting the car? or when in the on position.

doesnt state what BMW stands for, does it stand for anything at all? i know that the symbol is of the rotor blades on a plane, becuase they used to develope planes or still do?
-
very sad, althoe could have potential with a few minor changes, still very sad, and i dont think i would want to be seen driving it.
-
could be a slight crack or hole in the rubber piping from the air flow meter, sucking more air in during acceleration, creating a hissing noise? just a geuss but would also explain the miss firing aswell as you would be getting more air then the onboard computer would be registering.
