I don't know a lot about them but a GTi Golf is arguably a better buy. The interior is cheaper though. But you can get 150?kw and a dsg for the same money. Why? She wants to be bimmersport

The 4 cly motorsports are over priced in my opinion. The only reason i went 120i was that it was the best car in my budget. I would have gone 118i. If you want to spend the money, go for a 130i. From what I undertstand the motor is far more reliable than the others (including the d's) (this is my wife's car BTW)

Facelift 120i identical to the below: Had a few teething issues due to me stupidly thinking Hometune would be able to handle a simple oil change. WTF was I thinking (Lazy) Thoughts: Facelift interior is great! Definitely a step up from older models Has good options and I would say try and get them as it does make a difference (daytime angel eyes, electric memory seats, pro radio with no dead pixels, m/sport wheel with buttons, arm rest etc.) 120i goes OK, but its not fast or anything. Sounds pretty throaty though. Shout out to Hell BM for being awesome !

It will definitely be frustrating for you if you don't know areas as most houses won't have prices and agents will pitch it low to get you to the auction. Ask an agent for some sales evidence and drive around looking at what things have actually sold for in the last 6 months. It will bring you up to speed far faster than going to auctions or waiting for other properties to sell to see where things are priced. GL

Ellerslie would be the obvious option, but its not cheap. Newmarket is surrounded by big dollar suburbs. Unless you would consider an apartment or terraced house (leaker) then you need a $1mil to get in really. Mt Wellington / Panmure / Glen Innes are more affordable, but they are all pretty ghetto IMO. Watch out for Auckland agents, they'll see you coming a mile away and try and tuck you. Find one you 'trust' and try and stick to them. If you need a valuer, holla...

As above what's your budget? It is true the market is slowing, but more at the first home buyer end I have heard. I hope you have more than $600k cause otherwise prepare to be depressed, or commute

For me that one would be a non starter. As IMO negatives include: colour, engine swap, pre-facelift, that hideous wheel, those hideous wheels. But that's my personal taste....
