  1. Price Drop based on what some others are going for
  2. Don't need my shopping cart any more. $1250 for my 1995 BMW 318Ti 220,000km (or less, probably. This has the DOHC Cam Driven M42B18 engine which has more power and less issues that the other 318/316's. Current WoF, Reg till next year. Seems to run great, good tyres all round. Only mechanical issue is needs oil filter housing o-ring replaced at some point, have parts just haven't had the time. Electrics okay except passenger window doesn't go, I haven't bothered investigating as it doesn't bother me. Body has a few minor dings, The head lining is missing which looks pretty ugly but can be sorted for like $100 if it bothers you. Quick sale is a good sale.

  4. Finally get E30 on the road and go to my goto WoF guy, didn't realise i have aftermarket concentric(?) bushes up front, he won't pass them. It needs certing anyway for adjustable shocks, motor swap, manual conversion etc... but I'm getting over the endless list of sh*t this car needs... Thinking about throwing the towel in and either getting a better quality of E30 that's already had the work i want finished or just a 335 wagon... or brents E34 544iT... or i just don't know, i want all the cars.
  5. Wanting to upgrade my 6 button OBC to a 13 Button one. Anything out there?
  6. In general 'M' vehicles in their various guises can be spotted by their black head lining. Also take the plate number to carjam and get the last 7 digits of the vin (KX19054), then go to a BMW vin decoder like http://www.bmwvin.com/ there are a few but thats at the top of the Google search right now. An mspec vehicle should have some kind of M or Sports components, other than wheels, i don't see any such suggestions on the vin of this vehicle. For comparison check out vin NE96244 off this listing here http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1052703447.htm A lot of vendors, private and commercial, are just plane ignorant, or hopeful. If I had $1 for every time an 'AC Schnitzer' BMW had turned up on trademe that was Authenticated by the presence of maybe $100 of parts from Ebay (Pedals, Handbrake lever and Badging), i'd have several hundred dollars, and if I had the same $1 for every time someone put an M badge on a non M BMW, I'd have several thousand. I've had a car yard talk to me about an E39 540 that had Schnitzer pedals like they were letting me in on a secret and I was about to get the deal of the century because 'isn't interesting that it has Schnitzer pedals?' And I'm like no, not really, they are less than $50 on trademe. There was a trademe listing a few weeks back with an E60 545 something or other that had been 'tuned to M5 spec', and this was based on bullshit the dealer had fed to the customer.
  7. This could be a giggle. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1060382397 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. E30 Is running again after swapping engines with a parts car i picked up, i had to swap exhausts with the donor car as i decided swapping exhaust manifolds would land me with too many broken studs. Louder than an 80s DTM car right now, 2.5" straight through with a single 12" coby in the middle and a 12" long muffler with a 3.5" dump outlet. Fingers crossed a scarles silencer shuts it up enough for street duties. WoF booked in sat morning, then a weekend road trip.
  9. Everything seems to be working alright after the engine swap, the only remaining legacy of the Motronic to Jetronic Downgrade is the econometer not working. Just slams hard to the right as soon as I start, anything i can do to get it working?
  10. It looks like the green wire is power to the main relay.Black wire is tacho Yellow/white unknown as yet Have it going now :-) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. Probably of relavance are the wires on the round c101 side that aren't connected. 20 - Red/yellow (don't have abs) 12 - grey (check engine indicator) 15 - black/green (unloader relay ) 9 - black (engine speed input) 6 - green/white (oxy sensor relay) 14 - black/white ( speed signal to ecu) 8 - white/black (fuel rate input) 16 - white/black (diagnostic connector) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. I've got these plugs here with no friends. Andyes bypassing alarm is probably a good option till i can get it to an auto sparky Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  13. Just finished swapping the engine in my E30, for another M20B23. While I did do a slightly unconventional install in that I reverted from Motronic 1.3 back to Jetronic, I've gotten it to the point of turning over, but, have no spark, and I suspect no fuel. Given that the alarm won't arm/disarm, and the remote has a fresh battery, before I get too crazy assessing the install itself, I'm wondering if anyone has any sage advice for dealing with alarms gone wrong. It's a uniden 5 star something or other, the red status light isn't flashing, but it the main power wire is on the battery, and it did make a very slight blip sound when I first connected it back up. There is a short black cable not connected to anything at the siren box, but I think that's the antenna. Right so I found out why the alarm wasn't working... hadn't earthed it, then found it was in valet mode, sorted now. But, still no fuel, and no spark. As pictured a couple of posts below, I have 3 plugs spare, some research appears to show that one of these three pins is the tacho, not sure about the other two, but the two black ones connected to a single connector that came out of the motronic loom, and the white one on the Jetronic loom connected to a small white one under the dash.
  14. Well to be honest I'm assuming its an E21 B23, it has the block mounted distributor and small non pacman style diagnostic port.
  15. I have a pfl e30 with what i think is an m20b23 out of an e21, i.e. jet ecu etc. I want to drop the engine into my e30 320 that runs motronic. Is it easier to switch the engine to motronic or car to a jet based ecu?
  16. What was the price on this? I missed the post i think.
  17. What would be the problem? Current wof and live plates innit?
  18. I emailed the dude, and yes, according to him he was just repeating what the dealer told him. I said he should probably look at it as a community of BMW enthusiasts was pretty amused.
  19. Makes a man wonder what it would cost (or save) to return it to street spec and sell the un needed race spec bits.
  20. We had a bmw crushed back in the first chcheq
  21. In Christchurch Spotted an M325 at BK Yesterday Then jackpot on the way home, E24 635CSI (M6), UNF. Based on the carjam it has both a broken odometer and lives in a shed or somthing... so sad. https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=GMZ248 Checked the vin and it is running the S38 engine, sure as heck sounded like it anyway.
  22. Someone has clearly not discovered the lulz of www.lmgtfy.com
  23. Found this on the turbo one http://www.themotorhood.com/themotorhood/2014/4/24/going-the-distance-1987-bmw-m3-e30
  24. Try google golden homes race team or race lab maybe? I forget what he said about that one.
