  1. "Main feature- ceramic brakes $14000 option" ?????? AKA: this entirely unnecessary "enhancement" will cost you $14k every 40,000 kms (or even less perhaps?). Who really wants a 4 door M3 anyway?

    Low mileage E39 M5

Pics of the Porches or it didn't happen! A nice M5 would complement that lot nicely, good luck with the search as I think the really good ones are few and far between these days.
  3. Just get them from a bolt shop, that's what I did when I needed longer ones to fit shims. Use medium loctite. Bolt Shop - Wairau Steelmasters - Penrose They're the ones I know, there will be many more. Easy. Edit: hard bolts either black or zinc plated. Edit, edit: have some used ones here in Ellerslie that you can have for free if you want... 4 of them.
  4. Both of mine do this and I've replaced the suspension on both. I'm not sure I've ever seen an e36 that sits flat actually!
  5. Well, it's 45% more expensive which is certainly significant and in my opinion is a huge difference. BMW NZ's spare parts prices are simply not justifiable. Even when the import rules change next year they'll still be wildly more expensive than overseas options. I realise their stock is really to provide for their dealer networks but it's the very definition of price gouging. If they actually sold parts for a small (reasonable) margin above what BMW Ag charges they could have quite the little side business I would think. But they'd have to get rid of their stupid 3 week delivery timeframe and ship to order.
  6. Isn't it recommended to use both?
  7. ROFL ? I retract my recommendation, that pricing should be illegal. US$60 + Shipping for the lot from Schmiedmann.
  8. Didn't realise they were so expensive! A little less expensive at Schmiedmann (although not sure on shipping): https://old.schmiedmann.com/en/product/1968396-new?product=33-32-1-095-102
  9. BMW NZ tends to be be okay (if not expensive) for these types of odd bits and pieces I've found. You might pay $20 more than from FCP but you'll probably get them within 24 hours.
  10. I think that's why @BM WORLD reacted as they did to the first post... hen's teeth. But nothing ventured, nothing gained so good luck with the search.
  11. FWIW I reused 33526776759 and 07119905374 and you can inspect the later under the carpet in the trunk. Having said that both parts are inexpensive... Also, my suggestions above we based on the assumption that your top mounts, shocks and bushes actually need to be replaced... they may not of course! Depends on how old they are really and what type of life they've had. Based on the FCP pictures you can also drop 33526772864 because they're included in 3003359102HD. For a daily you can't go wrong with the Sachs shocks, especially at that price. Assuming yours is a MSport then the sway bar bushes and links are correct. The subframe and trailing arm bushes are not a DIY unless you have the correct tools and, aside from the alignment implications, don't need to be done at the same time as the suspension itself, your call really. Note that I've not double-checked and cross referenced every part so do a final sanity check for yourself also. If you remove everything that's not essential you will probably come in under NZ$400 too... bonus. I didn't realise those shocks were so inexpensive!
  12. Understood... From this diagram: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=CG82-EUR-07-1998-E36-BMW-318ti&diagId=33_1967 You should be able to reuse your existing parts: 12, 11, 10, 6, 5, 4 (probably), 3 - some may need a good clean, replace any damaged parts obviously. Replace: 9, 7, 1, 2, 14, 15 And from this diagram: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=CG82-EUR-07-1998-E36-BMW-318ti&diagId=33_1963 Replace: 2, 5 (assuming existing hardware is reusable - difficult to tell without visual inspection) Your springs really only need replacing if they're broken. You might consider Z3 rear shock tower reinforcements but I don't think they would be essential for a Ti (although they are only about $20 a set). Inspect your rear subframe bushings when you do the shocks and replace as required. There are no bump-stops in the RealOEM diagrams so I assume the Ti is not equipped with them. They're not essential unless you're going to rally it.
  13. What specifically are you trying to upgrade? Are you trying to solve a particular problem? You've linked to all the OEM parts you could possibly need... you'll be fine if you get them all... But I suspect that doesn't help you much?
  14. ^ wanna come and do mine?
  15. OMG, you've given me a different perspective! I was seeing "911" as 'cops' and not 'Porsche'... so 'I saw 'FU Pigs' sort of thing. Whatever it's intended to mean I wouldn't fly that close to the wind anyway. I'm no longer aware of my plate and I still love it but it wouldn't surprise me if popular opinion had moved on, I don't really care.

    Top Hose Burst

He is (was) the central character in the now ended TV show called Dexter. He was a blood splatter forensic scientist. Great show.

    Top Hose Burst

Bloody hell (literally), somebody call Dexter! Glad to hear you're still standing!!
  18. So at least 2 engine transplants??? If so I'd steer clear. The WoF mileage indicates the original engine was put back in only a few months after the V8 was installed... seems odd to me.
