Supercharger kit for 1993 E36 M3
M3AN replied to skyguy's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
3.0/3.2 shouldn't make a difference, same s/c unit for both. RHD/LHD shouldn't make a difference either, front of the engines are the same. However you don't want a s/c for a US M3. RMS are probably the best, have you checked out their Stage 2 setup? http://www.racemarque.com/product/stage-2-bmw-e36-euro-m3-supercharger-kit/ -
Ignore US figures, they're overinflated and basically rubbish. And since I can't mentally translate the HP figures here into reliable Kw numbers then I have to discard them all. But I don't believe a 1M has 'hundreds' more Kw OR HP than an e46 M3 in stock configuration.

^ 1M != M135i Graham. Nevertheless, I doubt those numbers also.

What do you think it's worth (I have no idea)?

Hi Jagan, is there a reason you don't want a diesel? I think the suggestions above are to get a six cylinder petrol or a <any cylinder> diesel. My knowledge of newer BMW's is limited so I can't even tell you which ones are 4 v's 6 cylinder sorry.

Seeing those pics reminds me that you'll want 6 x 51-71-2-268-565 soon, may pay to order them. http://www.schmiedmann.com/51-71-2-268-565/product-type/new/search-by-productnumber.aspx

I actually think it should be illegal to sell a car without a cert if the car requires one. Unless it's de-registered and therefore illegal to use on the road. Anyway, the only two things I have to say about this car: 1. it looks terrible on 16's 2. does an e46 rear coupe seat fit straight into an e36, side bolsters and all?

If you search for 'e36 fender flare guards' you'll find them. Apparently it's a thing now. And TBH I used to hate sh*t like this but nowadays I'm starting to appreciate the time, effort and ingenuity, even if not the aesthetic. So, I initially thought "yuck" but now I think "go for it" and am looking forward to seeing what you can engineer.

Gotta dump the badges.

Welcome. What body kit is that on the 5er do you know?
-
Don't stress dude, no harm, no foul.
-
No. And there's no such think as OBD "one" anyway, it's all proprietary before "OBDII". Whatever you have, and you do need to post a picture, it's probably suitable for 1997+ vehicles, '99+ at the worst.

Pronounced Dy-nin, didn't know that.

I don't disagree with Glenn, you can't rely on the advice you've been given unless you've been given more advice than you're sharing with us. Did the person that scanned the codes actually reset the airbag light (so it was off) and then it appeared again? Did you get a copy of the airbag codes the car was throwing? Don't spend any money yet is my advice - I'm no e90 expert but on earlier models, and according to realoem, the clock spring is part of the steering wheel assembly and not available separately (unless from a wrecker). http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgrp?id=VA72-EUR-07-2005-E90-BMW-320i&mg=32

So apparently it's for both the washer nozzles and the heated wing mirrors. I'd need to remove the hood liner to see how the washer nozzles are wired up. Correct mounting location in the e36 (M3) is the brake duct on the RHS, in e36's with non-motorsport bumpers apparently it's mounted up by the washer reservoir. I had some idle time at work this morning to research. Mine had fallen out and was just hanging by the wires. Cheers guys.

All good.

BEST BMW EVER - Which BMW is the 'Ultimate Driving Machine'? |
M3AN replied to Golfboy666GTI's topic in Videos & Sound
But Ron, it's got the wrong brand of suspension and tyres! -
Yes, I'd worked that out but how? There appears to be no heater element or circuit so does it just stop the washers from spraying? I did see that it was on a heap of vehicles but I'd like to know the 'proper' place to install it on an e36. Mine's been disconnected for a while and I'd like to get it sorted.

In an e36, what's the thermo switch (61318357632) for the windshield washer system used for? Also, where does the bracket for said switch (61318359077) mount?
-
Could be interested... When you say "steering lock seized" do you mean it's locked per normal but the key won't release it? Also "doesn't maintain idle well" means it just hunts or actually stalls? Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Armrests suck also in the e36. Glad my car came without, as the Germans intended. And with two hands on the wheel WTF is the armrest actually for? Traffic lights? Use your lap.

I'm not sure they thought you were stupid. Based on the photographic evidence provided I think they thought the tech's were doing it wrong. And to be fair a different photo, one of the actual checking, to accompany the text might have lead to a different conclusion. But sure, assumptions are...

Thanks and no problem... Reupholster supplied rear seat (base/back) retaining existing leather and using supplied material Reupholster supplied front seat inserts (base/back x2) using supplied material Create new front seat base bolster covers (x4) using supplied material Repair front seat base bolsters (x4) = approx. $1000 So, add the seats, the material, the mounting bases, the sliders, the belt buckles, the door cards and you're looking at a silly amount... :-/

E36 Suspension. Which route to take!?
M3AN replied to Arborguy's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Lol. Who would have guessed? /thread
