Glad to hear there are no chips, I was just basing my assessment on your grumpy answers/comments in the TM auction and here in this thread. Doesn't come across very well. To be honest I think you underestimate the knowledge of the audience here and to be fair your (ex) car has an unknown service history so you should have expected scepticism about a price no other similar car has come close to in the last few years. My drivetrain, bushes, clutch, VANOS, suspension, brakes, etc, etc have all been rebuilt or replaced and I'd still not expect to get for mine what you were asking for yours. I am genuinely glad you found the right buyer. I hope it lives up to their expectations. No hard feelings.

I'm trying to remove my outer tierods but the ball joint shaft just spins with the nut. They're only about 6 months old so I want to preserve them. There doesn't seem to be a visible surface on the shaft for me to grip with anything (it's all well protected behind the rubber). Is there a tip or trick to stop the shaft spinning?

When I picked up my E36 M3 14 years ago I could have purchased an E30 M3 for 20k less than I paid for mine... now they're worth what, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 times as much!

People on Facebook ranting about Facebook. Just cancel your account and spare us all. Otherwise you deserve all you get. - Facebook free since 2004 and proud of it.

Maybe one of the other admins could send him a text message or something, not sure how often he checks in? Thread seems to be going nowhere and PM's not generating a result?
-
Lovely car but is that a realistic price? I'm not sure. And what type of intake manifold is that? Off-brand?
-
Yep. Keen as mustard.

PM'd but Rowan has first dibs if you only have a couple.

The airbags? lol!
-
Installed the occupancy sensor defeat for the passenger seat, removed seat, test fitted NZKW bracket and slider for my Recaro seats. All seems fine (and no airbag light) although I think everything will be a bit too low, I might need to prop it up a bit, possibly by using ~1" stands between the floor bracket and sliders. BTW - don't pay $65 for an occupancy sensor defeat from Trademe, get a better one from eBay for $12 shipped.

Good of you to finally admit trolling Ron. Props.
-
You probably shouldn't have quoted the whole post then Ron. I also had no idea what you were talking about. You missed the part in my post, even though you quoted it, that I was talking about non-official agents. I really think you need to read things a little more slowly. Might help with comprehension which is important when you're the type to fire from the hip.
-
You get the first two of course!
-
No, I just need non-charged ones for my E36 seat project.
-
I need two as well for those looking at this.

I did challenge your assumptions recently and you threw your toys out of the cot, are you still bitter about that?
-
I did. And my logic is still watertight. In this case he's half right and half wrong. If you're saying you believe everything he's posted in this thread then you've been fooled.

Dude. For the last time I'm not (that means "not") saying the penalty is unlawful. I'm saying the penalty doesn't match the crime because there are worse crimes with lessor penalties. Take a deep breath and think about my words, not your emotional reaction to my post, and you'll eventually work it out. You're arguing against the wrong thing into empty space.
-
My god you're contrary. My logic is fine. If you compare the penalty for this "crime" against other, more serious crimes, then the punishment here is clearly and obviously disproportionate. I'd already stated that the penalty was supported by law and I'm not arguing it isn't. I'm stating the legal penalty is disproportionate. And that's easy to prove.
-
I don't disagree that the letter of the law was probably applied here. But I don't think it's reasonable (the law) and I believe it can be easily proven to be disproportionate. That's why I mentioned that stupid bitch.

Wow. Some people just have to win every argument don't they? Anyway, first things are first - not everything from China is rubbish. It's an unreasonable generalisation and just a little bit racist. But I agree with the predominant sentiment in this thread and one thing in particular irks me - even if you do buy from a NZ source you (read: I) often find that any warranty coverage can't be fulfilled by the NZ "distributor" because they're not an actual agent for the original supplier! They're just acting as a freight forwarder and have no liability. You return a faulty part to them but can't get a resolution until they return it to their supplier and get a resolution from them. Hell no! That's what I pay a margin for, value add, not just pushing product. Next time you consider a NZ supplier ask how they deal with warranty returns - you should always have two options, immediate replacement (i.e. they stock them) or immediate refund. And you should normally have both options. Anything less and you should just get it online and act as your own middle man.

I agree with most here, even if he was a recidivist offender the punishment doesn't match the crime. Judith "Crusher" Collins is a National shame (pun intended). I bet he was being a dick but far, far more serious crimes are dealt with far less severely and this is entirely disproportionate. On that basis alone this is neither justice nor justified. No analogies are required to work this one out.

I have just purchased 2 of the NZKW bases for my M3. They're sitting on the floor of my lounge if you want to come and have a look at them. I'm planning to test fit the passenger side one this weekend.
