  1. What are "EVO" flat wipers?
  2. You couldn't be more wrong Kelvin. Best you take a breath and reconsider your position before you dig a deeper hole. Kyu, you're also off the mark. The most relevant detail to a purchaser is the year of manufacture, not the year of first registration. That the two commonly occur within months of each other makes it convenient to use the first registration year to represent the age of the car. If the first registration date doesn't fairly reflect the age of the car then you can't use it to represent the age of the car. You're overlooking the basics here and since they're so obvious I'm confused as to why? Extrapolating it to the extreme proves the point quite clearly: Car manufactured in 1972 sits in a barn owned by a long passed dealer and is never registered. It's rediscovered in 2016 by anybody else and immediately registered as brand new. Now, is that a 1972 car or a 2016 car? Silly argument boys and girls. It's so simple it's hardly worth the time.
  3. It's a MY2008 first registered in 2010? It's a 2008 car period. And can't legitimately be advertised as a 2010 car. "First registered in 2010" perhaps, as long as that's not misleading and I suggest it probably is. In no way, manner, fashion or form is it a 2010 car.
  4. Electric rear vents would be ace but that's silly money he's asking IMHO. And why would he take off the pedal covers lol?

    Quick rant thread.

I'd never blast mine. Not saying it's wrong, just that I wouldn't take the risk. Hand clean with a terrycloth covered sponge is how I remove dirt, doesn't seem to scratch (although my entire car needs a clay bar and polish).
  7. IMHO BMW(s) lost their soul in about 2004 when electronics became fundamentally more important than mechanics.
  8. I'm picking up some door cards on Sunday but may need more. Please expalin what "M3" door cards are. And what's the trim on them? Pics? Also assuming that for $250 they're complete, mint and the rear panel cards are included?
  9. What, you can't find a set of axle stands for less than $300? At least axle stands would look better than these!
  10. Holy f*ck! This thing weighs less than 1,300kg! I was like "BS - there's no way they can make a 6 series as light as a Porsche GT3 RS, it won't even be in the same ballpark!" And it's actually lighter... wtf?! Wow.

Understood and agreed. One recently sold in the UK for GBP70k so that's about NZ$150k! He drives his rarely, just has it maintained on his behalf and tended to as required so it doesn't get any wear and tear - he's hoping that means he doesn't have to source any of those NLA parts. He does freak out about the possibility of having somebody slam into it though... as I'm sure you can imagine!

^ and the exchange rate at the moment encourages selling overseas. Although my mate is reconsidering exporting his having heard about this sale!
  13. Aluminium nuts would be fine but I wouldn't want to be using aluminium studs or bolts. And yeah, 10 gms at 75 mm won't make any material difference.
  14. Don't try BMW unless you have a tub of lube. I have it on good advice from an E46 M3 owner that these guys are mint, just take in your old mats or a cardboard template. Now I can't vouch for them personally but I trust the guy who passed this on enough to get some myself when my other project list gets sorted. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=1756587 https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=Autodec+Supplies+Ltd&cad=h YMMV Edit: yes of course they're not genuine OEM but really, floor mats?
  15. +Murray Walker Good that thing is 4WD, rear wheels spend a fair bit of time off the ground!
  16. Yes, proper alignment and check rear trailing arm bushings (RTAB's).

That's in mint condition. My mate is thinking of sending his to the UK for a sale. He hasn't had much interest above $90k here but to be fair it's only being passively marketed.

    Quick rant thread.

I don't think it is a thing, that's my point. They're just making it up.
  19. Hi Jasjot (how do you pronounce that if you don't mind be asking? phonetically?) So feel free to PM me if you'd like to keep the commercials between us but here's what I'm looking to do... I have a set of (5) staggered, stamped style 24's (3 fronts, 2 rears) and what I want to do is strip them back, clean them up (curbing), polish the lips, paint the centres (OEM silver) and then clear coat them. One of them has been previously repaired and has heat damage (see pic) so they will need to be spun up to verify they're round. Can you do or source all of this or do I need to have prep/finishing done elsewhere? Pictures are of worst wheels...

    Quick rant thread.

That's an interesting application of a solid yellow line. And I'm not sure it's covered anywhere in the road code. A solid yellow line means "you can't cross this to pass". It doesn't mean, as far as I can tell "you can't cross this". There are many examples where you have to cross a solid yellow line (pulling in to some driveways is an example). If you're not passing anything then I'd like to see them enforce this "can't change lanes yellow line". And it also begs the question, if it can mean simply "don't cross", why the Victoria Park tunnel in Auckland isn't marked with solid yellow lines between lanes? There are (unenforceable) signs entering the tunnel saying "No Changing Lanes In Tunnel" so why only solid white lines (which are simply an advisory not to change lanes).
  21. Would be interesting to get the specific colour, that doesn't look like 'Dove' to me. Plug your VIN into http://www.bimmer.work/ and get the upholstery code (may be inter Individual optins if there are any). And you're right, they look pretty mint.
  22. Dove Grey and leather? Or grey cloth with inserts? That'll make a difference. 8.5/10 is very good condition for seats this age also so that's to your advantage. Electric or manual? Heat and/or lumber? On the international market they're worth a lot, lot more than five or six hundred dollars (check ebay.de) but the problem you have here is that the market is limited and shipping them internationally is impractical. I think you need to offer the entire interior as colour matching to an M3 interior is almost impossible. And an 8.5 interior should be worth well north of $1200 if you can find a buyer. Seats alone, to the perfect buyer, perhaps $1000. Basically you're looking for a flush 328 owner looking to replace their interior, specifically with vaders. Pictures will help.
