Now that's ^ a proper grill. That whole package is real sexy.
-
That's rank. I'd find another insurer and tell your existing insurer that this is the reason you're leaving.
-
Wut? 🤔 They want you to pay the rest of a year's insurance on a vehicle that they no longer need to insure? That's BS, don't accept it at all.
-
That rear spoiler is an abomination. And 19's and a 130 are not a happy marriage made.
-
Wow, I hope that's using blocks of wood for suspension!
-
They're some fancy looking gauges @Ninjaspartan, what can you display in the bottom section?

Got the brake fluid flushed and replaced in the M3 at the place around the corner because I hate doing brake fluid. The fluid that was in there was seriously past its use by date but the pedal still feels soft. May take it back for another bleed. And I replaced the new intake hose on the 130i with a new intake hose for the 130i. More info in that thread for those that are interested.
-
Today I replaced my 'Speed & Cool' intake hose, that I recently installed, with the Mishimoto one my brother got me for my birthday a couple of weeks back. It was pure coincidence, neither of us knew of the other's plan. They're effectively the same thing, call me a brand whore. 😛 So if anybody wants a full compliment of both speed and cool for their N52 (1 or 3 series) hit me up, $40 shipped.

When the VANOS was rebuilt and reinstalled were the endpoints and starting angles checked using BMW's software (or something that can do the same)? If it's out by a few degrees it could have the affect you're seeing. Other than that I really couldn't speculate. Edit: my only experience is with dual VANOS S50's, disregard the above if timing the VANOS isn't applicable to the M52.

Forgive my ignorance but do you know why you'd use pie cuts welded together over a mandrel bent pipe?
-
Yeah, what's up with all those welds? Going for the steampunk look?

This one is interesting, still too expensive but probably the highest spec'd one I've ever seen: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3109945580 Sunroof, F/R PDC, BMW Performance Exhaust (educated guess, it's not stock and looks like a BMW back box), Comfort Access, Adjustable Lumbar, Adaptive Xenons, HiFi System (on top of Professional Nav, so extra amp and speakers), CD Changer... it's really only missing Cruise Control I think (which can be retrofitted, I've done it). And a good looking (and proper fitting) spoiler to boot. That would have cost a pretty penny off the lot! I wish there was an engine bay pic, based on the wing and trunk stickers it may have some hidden goodies too: https://www.studie.co.jp/ Maybe I should take a look on the weekend?
-
Yeah, I agree, this is turning into a real sweet outcome. Props.

That is the second dumbest thing I've ever seen from BMW, it's even dumber than their new grills. The only thing that beats it is the utter, laughing-stock, idiot decision some fool made to call a sedan a coupe... and persist with it. Simply saying it many times doesn't make it true, it just makes you look even more stupid.

lol - goes to show what experience, actual knowledge and proper diagnostic tools offer over the internet and a parts cannon!
-
Many SuperPro bushes don't need a press to install, I'd contact Georg Stock ([email protected]) for prices before buying off Trademe. And wow, those Mini arms look like a PITA to work on!
-
Have you advertised it anywhere other than here? This is an enthusiast's site for sure but there are a very limited number of eyes here, especially for a specialist interest car.
-
Why are you measuring your temps using sticks and stones? And what units are you measuring your oil pressure in? 🤣 115*C is nothing to worry about. The dash gauge is buffered, you can actually code out the buffer but then it moves all over the place.
-
lol - why is this in off-topic when it's clearly on-topic? Anyway, thanks for the feedback folks, much more to consider than I had assumed. I'm in no hurry (if at all) so will absorb and consider over an extended period.
-
If there was an actual oil pressure problem it would have turned into a mechanical problem by now. Diagnosing the problem is obviously still important but it shouldn't prevent you driving the car which is a good thing.
-
I'm not even sure I want one, but if I did, what are the important considerations? Is $125 a sensible or silly amount for such tech? https://www.repco.co.nz/en/in-car-technology/dash-cams-reverse-cams-throttle-controllers/dash-cams/xview-barrel-dash-cam-full-hd-1080p-wi-fi-xv20dvr/p/A6069337

I have an Avin USA 10.25" dash-top unit: https://avinusa.com/10-25-multimedia-navigation-system-for-bmw-1-series-e81-e82-e87-e88.html and yes, for my E87. There are many brands, they're all clones. If you go down this route then make sure you get an Android 10+ unit with min 4GB RAM and an external microphone is recommended. The CCC display just presents on the new screen, button and wheel work to navigate on both the CCC screens and the Android screens if you want to use that (touch screen is easier). The only thing that doesn't really integrate well is AM/FM radio... they still work but you need to go back to the CCC system to set channels etc.

No, the centres were for Recaro SR4's so wouldn't fit. Coincidently I've just sold the last 3.8m of the M Rain material I have and it's being picked up in 15 mins. I'll use that money to refurb my Lotus White and then sell the other Vader interior I have.

My Android unit retains full CCC compatibility FWIW.
