I do get clock spring (aka slipring) because it looks the same as the spring in a (mechanical) clock... quarter glass, I know what that is too but I don't know of an alternative name for it.
-
I thought of that but also, verts don't really have "hood" (or roof) liners!
-
Interesting (although he wasn't over 50), why is that? What's the provenance of the term "hood liner" (in a roof context), do you know?
-
It's actually a funny coincidence... the blue 130i I purchased 'by accident' a while back was advertised as having a sagging "hood liner". I purchased sight unseen and then discovered the "hood liner" (bonnet liner) was fine but the "head liner" (a much more expensive problem) was the bit that was sagging... the seller (a motor vehicle dealer but a private sale) said "I've always referred to that as the 'hood liner'"... it goes without saying that I gave him a look that said 'you're a dishonest bastard aren't you!'.
-
I think that's a good move and I hope it doesn't cause you grief! One other question, you say new "hood" liner... is that a typo for "head" liner or an Americanised "bonnet" liner?
-
Q&A should be visible and transparent, you can't do that via txt. If an honest question and an honest answer drag the price down then the price needed to be dragged down. If it's just noise you don't need to answer the question, or you can answer with a "." so people can see silly questions. Serious buyers won't be dissuaded by idiot questions. But hey, the market will decide, GLWS.

I seem to recall this one, is it owned by a BS member? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3164925676 Regardless, stating that you're not going to answer questions in the Q&A isn't cool, hopefully it will limit the market enough for the seller to change their position.

Yes but yours doesn't have a floppy, weighty sunroof so +$10k. And I assume his (edit: her?) sunroof means a carbon fibre roof delete? Who'd do that? Especially in the UK?!?
-
I can't imagine a real world situation where any of that is relevant on the street. If you've spec'd for the track and that's where you'll spend your time then perhaps. I didn't realise that was a thing for the e46 M3... interesting. Does that mean the even tighter Z3 rack is also an option?
-
I'm not sure a ~330hp car that weighs less than 1600kg's justifies a 255 up front, I think that will end up being a compromise on handling.
-
What took you in that direction? 🤔
-
I have a lingering perception that they're pretty expensive, things might have changed though. I just tend to shop around for tyres, some places will price match, others will discount even further, it's worth a few calls. Wheels on the other hand, especially for an M6, are a different story, you really need high quality wheels rather than the cheapest. But still, once you decide when you want cross check prices. Hyper Drive often have good deals (but don't fall for their fake deals) and are worth checking out. You might find importing the wheels you want yourself is actually cost effective.

Yeah, that's a fine looking job, especially considering the awkward shapes and surfaces involved. Well done. 👍

Should be able to beat an M440 now...
-
Agreed, this is M3AN!
-
What's up with that headunit? 🤔
-
I see they economised on the clock.
-
The quad exhaust backbox might be worth making an offer on.
-
Is that 140 for a stock or limited slip diff? Factory spec for the stock slippery diff is 75w90 GL-5 (BMW branded of course 🙄). I don't know what to put in mine, I don't know what type of LSD it has.
-
I've still got my used ones put aside for you (no obligation) if you want them.
-
For the stock diff synthetic 75w90 GL-5.
-
A few with more rational pricing are popping up including this double facelift auto with moderate miles for 8k (edit: ONO, so you could probably drive it away for 7.5). https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3146714682
-
Can you even drive those things with the 'doors' down?
-
That's awesome, didn't realise it was relatively straightforward. Probably quite easy to find a cluster with lower miles than yours so that's one problem taken care of! The oil PID's problem exists with the LCI too. 😬
-
Nice work. Is that new cluster, new sensor and some coding? Or something else altogether?
