Bro, that's a terrible experience, I'm sorry to hear that. I tend to agree with Kyu but since you're knees-deep now and want to keep going, if you can get it to my place in Mt Wellington I can plug it in and scan it for you for free. If you're close and willing to provide beers I might be able to travel to you...

That's the one I saw, and it's also the only result returned if you use "Synergy" as a search term. Why they make this data so difficult to find and interpret is a mystery to me.
-
I think you'd have to consider an RS4/6 in the mix as well.

According to the ExxonMobil material safety data sheet (https://sds.exxonmobil.com/psims.aspx) the NZ petrol contains "less than or equal to 10%" ethanol. You have to make some assumptions about converting their internal trade names to the product names we see at the pump but they do refer to them all as "Ethanol blended petrols" so I think we can safely assume they all have ethanol in them.

lol, imagine if it were just a check... 🤣

I agree with @curryinahurry in case you needed additional assurance. Skip the 91.

Car's running a 280hp tune, I'd never run it on 95 unless it was an emergency. Just edited my post above, the Gull 98 is 10% ethanol, I wonder if that much presents additional considerations? Agree with your comments about the e36.

There's a Gull about to open 150m up the road from me, I have Mobil and BP 98 available to me about 1.5km as the crow flies. Given the price, I'm of the mind that I will start using Gull 98 in the 130, not so sure about the M3 but I don't go through nearly as much fuel in that these days so am far less price sensitive. If Gull 98 won't hurt my 130 I'd be silly not to right? Edit: although I see Gull 98 (Force 10) has 10% ethanol with is 100% more than the European standard BMW mentions above... concern?

"Unlimited changes based on CBS"... find a 300,000 km+ BMW and sign it up... they'll do an oil change, can't reset the service light, as soon as you drive it out it will need another oil change... perpetual cycle because of their anti-consumer practices. I'd like to see how they responded to that.

Goes well ^ with the OTT camber.

Nice one. And it's probably got aluminium doors unless somebody has flogged them? As for injectors, go stock rather than "upgrade" - quantifiable data from elsewhere says the EV6 injectors add no value.
-
Hmm, that may well be true but if it still is, it won't be for long. I'm not sure of the specific status but consumer insurance law is under review in NZ (https://www.mbie.govt.nz/business-and-employment/business/financial-markets-regulation/insurance-contract-law-review/) with a stated intent to update it in line with UK and Australia. For example, section 54 of the Australian Insurance Contracts Act prevents insurers from denying someone’s claim because of something the customer did after they entered the contract, if their actions were unrelated to the loss in question. My recollection, which stands to be corrected, is that this change has already been made to NZ law but a) I don't know where and b) I don't know when. If it hasn't happened it's imminent. Having said all that, I'm not advocating for taking the risk.

Interesting. Broad exclusions like that aren't normally allowed... e.g. that you have an illegal fence is no cause to reject an unrelated claim on your property insurance, that you have aftermarket brakes is no cause to reject an unrelated claim on your mechanical warranty. If I found myself facing such a denial I'd confidently lawyer up.
-
Does the system (still?) stop functioning as expected at 300,000 km's?
-
This is true but only if the spacer is implicated in the cause. If you have a front brake failure (for example), or are simply careless at an intersection and have an accident they couldn't refuse the claim because you had rear wheel spacers. Now, if your rear wheel comes off and you have an accident then you can be almost certain they'll look to decline the claim if you have uncertified spacers.
-
Yeah, it's no so much about paying attention to CBS, it's the fact that once you hit 300,000kms you can't extinguish the service light, it bounces back on immediately which would be a real annoyance on the dash.

Does BMW's "Condition Based Servicing" system fail customers at 300,000 kms? https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2016/10/bmw-basically-claims-vehicles-disposable/ Is this still true? If so it's very anti-customer.

In this case a basic alarm would have been enough! I'm not very good at locking in my final amount early... can always bid $1 more! 😆

Received my $50 Ali Express silicon intake hose today, only took about a month to arrive so not too bad. Looks good enough, it's a good deal if it fits. It's branded "Speed & Cool" and has a gauge with flames so I'm expecting all of the above.

They look like APEX Arc 8's to me.

SOLD. Nice to meet you Steve.

Ahh, my bad sorry folks, they were both staggered but the LCI rears are wider at 8.5J as opposed to 8J. http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/208 So these are pre-LCI. 🙃 Have edited my incorrect post above.
