How much for the body stripes? And can you ship? 😂
-
Probably stock Textar, really good pads for the street, amazing initial bite and feel, lots and lots of dust! Quite, kind on rotors but entirely inappropriate for the track.
-
I used Spareto recently for 4 rotors, shipping wasn't cheap but it was quick. Rotors x4 US$240 Shipping US$230 YMMV.

Rear window down in the rain? Is that lovely intake delaminating? 😮

It's a nice parts car but still to pricy. Does it have a special diff?

Less than 8k for a tidy looking Alpinweiss (auto), with blacklines and rolling on 208's. Not bad if you ignore the dubious side indicators. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3180409113 Offer $7,250 and you might drive away with a good catch.

You can get demineralised water from New World in 10 litre bottles for about a 1/3 of the price of auto/tool stores FWIW. I think I paid less than $9 for 10l.

Could be worse ^... oh, it is worse. 😂

I have a spare set of 130 front calipers you can have for not much if you want to rebuild a set when the other is still on the car. Will have the rears as well when I can be bothered with the faff.
-
M-Lite (Blue): Front 4 pistons: 40/40mm = 50.3 cm^2 (67%) Rear 2 pistons: 40mm cm = 25.1 cm^2 (33%) Nearly identical bias as the gold ones.

This if you can do it. It solves both "normal" upgrade problems: Gives you proper, modern front calipers without warts (F series); and, Doesn't require you to faff around with the rears (E series) You can't colour match this combo though so you're in for a strip and powder coat (and decals), extra $. My M140i fronts are epic, yet to install the rears because of the faff.

Vague could also be, perhaps even more likely, control arms. Forgive my ignorance but does it have electric or hydraulic power steering? With the engine on and wheels pointing straight how much/far can you move the steering wheel before the wheels move? If it's much more than the typical steering slack (let's say 5 degrees??? total) then the tierods could be the culprit. If you have two people then repeat the test with somebody eyeballing the tierods, do they move obviously before the wheel(s) move? If so, replace. edit: You need to look at both the push and the pull motions on each side. Wheels must be on the ground and suspension loaded for those basic tests to tell you anything.

Nice work! 💪 As for the display, I have one of these: https://avinusa.com/10-25-multimedia-navigation-system-for-bmw-1-series-e81-e82-e87-e88.html which is pretty good actually. As for the sunroof cover, get something like this and slap it on: https://www.amazon.com/VViViD-Black-Matte-Contact-1-49ft/dp/B00YLFSJ4Y/ - obviously measure first and order to suit.
-
It seems fine, good welds and proper powder coat. I'm far less dubious about them now than I used to be, have one in the rear of the M3 and it's sweet.
-
Installs easily enough, even accommodates the "camber pin mod". Car seriously needs a wash!

Just looked back at my invoice... BMW E-series (Pre-LCI/Steptronic) V1 Paddle Kits × 1 (Billet Black) https://www.nelsonracingwheel.com/collections/paddle-shifters/products/bmw-e-series-paddle-kits?variant=15653226545187

Acquired... Front strut bar... necessary? Probably not. Worth a punt? Probably and won't hurt.
-
Yes, and 18 months in they're still so awesome. I drove a normal auto about two months ago and kept reaching for "my" paddles, it was a terrible experience. If you can use a screwdriver, plyers and can swap some electrical connectors then you can install these. I did find a (rather obvious) error in their instructions and let them know, I'm not sure if they've been updated (they describe swapping the incorrect pins on the left side). You need the "pre-LCI" version because the US LCI was actually the 2010 update, not the international (first) 2007 update.

WTB - E87 M sport 18" wheels - Style 208M LCI Rears
M3AN replied to ciderbeard's topic in Want to buy
Correct, they fill out the wheel well better and you can fit wider rubber if desired. -
No problem, I'm in Mount Wellington, send me a PM.
-
I have a plug-in Dremel with some good cutting discs... what are you trying to cut (that will determine the number of discs you churn through)?

I don't have any for sale but as a guide, I paid $300 for a staggered set with no curbing about a year ago. Don't overpay. Pre-facelift rears and not as wide as post-facelift rears, you want the later. http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/ -
No, I've not see that one in my travels sorry but it does look good and is sensibly priced. Hawkes Bay is lovely for an overnighter.

First Bimmer - 2007 130i MSPORT Manual

Welcome Aaron and good choice! That VIN points to a Left Hand Drive vehicle? To answer your question, yes BMWP stuff is long since discontinued so you'd need to pick one up on the second hand market and they're about as abundant as rocking horse poop. Edit: you get no more help until you post pics! 😉
