  1. I'll try not to sound condescending, but... In many European countries, 25 years ago, and still today... 1. Petrol is very expensive. (small engine, less petrol) 2. They had/have high taxes on engines over 2000cc (eg Maserati bi-turbo. 2L specifically for this reason) 3. A big quiet car is nice to have... it will still go 150km/hr.. it just takes a while to get there. I've been driving a E36 318i for more than 20 years because 140hp is plenty.. it's quick enough, but easy to stay out of trouble.. it gets decent fuel economy. No one needs more than 100hp... it's a capitalist luxury.
  2. These came with a pair of HD Meyle control arms I bought from FCP for my E36 M3. I opted for solid rubber bushings instead of these. I assume these will fit any control arm as I used OEM type bushings on the arms these came with. Skunkworks wants $140 for similar (just the bushing, no mount). I'll sell these for $90 ono.
  3. Yeah, this missing engine covers really aren't a good look. Really.
  4. The suspension seems to be broken.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†πŸ€£
  5. What's with the 'sore thump' stand out white trim bit above the mirror. That's not factory, is it?
  6. Well, there was the CC, and there's also fact that I'm a bit low on cash and garage space as no one seems to want to buy my very affordably priced and rare, E36 M3. πŸ˜€
  7. https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=ghm265 It was some kind of very dark blue with a horrible red interior. A very weird combo, IMHO. Coupe, 40k miles, UK import. As a hopefully humous side note. I didn't call about it because it didn't have cruise control! WTF? I premium M car, from the UK. No CC? mdecoder report below. 8. A dealer will have bought it by morning.
  9. Oh FFS. It's in the TITLE.. 'rear'. Really... you spell so bad you do it in the title?
  10. This is nice. Is this and other "BMW Special Part"? πŸ˜€
  11. Here's a dreamer! $15k for totally average manual 130i.🀣 He seems to have missed by approximately a factor of 2. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/5454858003
  12. Like an idiot I ignored the rust spot on my hood for too long and how it past repair. If anyone has available or knows of an Arctic Silver hood please let me know. Thanks. I'm sure I couldn't got one at pick-a-part 3 years ago but now... E36s are scarce as.
  13. Boy... aren't we all. πŸ˜¬πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  14. Thanks. I forgot the relisting changes the link.
  15. Bump. I'd like this out of my garage. I'm sure I'll miss it but such is life. $30,000 with the RAREM3 rego...
  16. It could be corroded because it's been on a salty boat for a month? But anyway.. it has cruise control!!!!! πŸ˜€ (just wanted to point that out)
  17. What's the motor? M62, S62? Trivial for you: The headlights are from a Mini, swapped left for right and right for left.
  18. The Horror... Hoped I'd never seen another of these after I left Canada 15 years ago. The are hopeless in all aspects, purely marketed to 'rich old guys' looking for nostalgia with a warranty (when new). Not made in manual... says it all.
  19. In some European countries (Italy, of note) the road taxes on engines over 2000cc are huge. Hence the existence of the Masseratti Bi-Turbo...1998cc , twin turbo. In the old days taxes were done purely on engine size. 518... a 'luxury automobile' with small taxes. I'd contest the seller claim that most came with auto transmissions. Due to the small engine and 'engaged' nature of European drivers, I'd expect most came with manual gearboxes... but just a guess.
  20. "The Kms are high," How many? (I have the identical car, in Arctic Silver πŸ™‚ with 290k, going strong)
  21. IT has cruise control!!!! (since it's not NZ new). But, no airbags 😞
  22. Pffft... not motorsport... not manual...that price is some real dreaming.
  23. I have just been researching this as I want to change the oil in my diff and you need the right kind depending on the diff type. I have found that early Z3s had clutch diffs ands sometime in mid-late 99 they changed to torsen. This seems like reliable information to me, people saying the only way to tell what you have is to take the back off and look, but that the early ones definitely came with clutch diffs. What do you say to this? What is your statement based on? Also, IMHO the ABS can take care of locked wheels...I'd rather have a torsen, it doesn't wear out.
