  1. I've been made aware I need to specify NZ New... though I think anything NOT Japanese will do...I'm from Canada so I don't know but I think Jap radios have screwed up FM tuners or something.
  2. UPDATE: I popped off the seat and cover plate (very easy!) and had a look at the sender on the right side (with fuel pump). I pulled the connector off the send and measured the reisistance... open circuit... so that's the problem. I shorted the connector with piece of wire. The gauge works again. Half is full and it goes down from there. Will see about fixing it in the near future. May get a used one or try to repair the exisiting one.
  3. Everyone seems to take these out but I like it and mine's ka-put. Please, sell me your discard for cheap! Car is a 1997 318is. Thanks, James
  4. I had a look and can see how to remove the sender unit. Can the wire/sender be repaired or do I have to buy a new one (*yike$*) There is a sender on both sides. Is there a reason you think it's the right side one? Is it the one that usually fails? Thanks, James
  5. Is the a common fault or am I just very (un)lucky? Is it difficult to get to the sender? Do I have to remove the tank? I'm in Hamilton/Raglan. Cheers, JS
  6. I have 2 x1997 318i's A few months ago the petrol gauge on one stopped working, showed empty all the them, then after a few weeks started to either show empty or some random reading from time to time. I've haven't had a chance to look at fixing it yet. Yesterday the gauge on my other 318i did the same thing! Just driving along and bang, it starts showing empty. Can someone point me in the right direction as to a solution? Thanks, JS
  7. good luck, nice car. M43 motors suck!
  8. I love these cars too, and I also need a wagon to replace my 318i Motosport, but I am incapable of driving an automatic transmission, which is a big problem in NZ.
  9. If only it was manual :-(
  10. Funny thing... I did win the lotto! (really, the wife was incredulous as she always says I'm wasting my money on lotto tickets) However, only won 1/3 of the price so won't be buying it. I see an E36 M3 in my future though :-)
  11. Maybe if 5amchris sells me the car. :-) I only won just a bit more than the asking price... still, better than [insert suitable cliche here].
  12. Curses! I just won lotto (not the big one, but enough) and was ready to buy! Sure you wont reconsider?
  13. Gorgeous!!!! I'll be in touch if I win the lotto this weekend.
  14. 97 M3 Evo Carjam gives "No information available." on the plate number, never seen this before. Any one know about this car?
  15. Love that realoem link! Thanks! Great for getting info on cars. BTW you can get the VIN for a car using the rego on carjam.co.nz
  16. I'm looking for an E36 M3 Evo SEDAN, not interested in Coupes. There was one (yellow, I think) for sale last December but I wasn't in a position to buy then. If anybody knows someone who has one please ask if they'd like to sell.
  17. I would appreciate if you could copy the ad text and a few photos here to the forum as myself, like many, cannot access trademe from 'the office'.
  18. Are these suitable for use on an e36? Is the offset correct? Thanks.
