Nice car but crack pipe price!

My girlfriend had a small crash in her car recently resulting in the car being undrivable. She was in a state of shock after the crash and some towing company turned up out of nowhere, and before she could refuse, towed her to some dodgy panel shop "that they recommend". The whole journey was less thn 10km and she was charged $110 + GST!!! Not to mention the shop probably gave the driver a back hander. In the end I got the car transferred to a shop I trust, but was pretty pissed the towing company took advantage of her being in upset state and reamed her with a bullshit towing cost.

I recently drove a 118i over the Rimutakas and was pretty impressed. They go well for a base spec car, and hold true the motto that every BMW is worthy of being called "The Ultimate Driving Machine". Fingers crossed the rumours that the new ones will be FWD are rubbish!

Nice, but what happens if you feel like some new tunes on a road trip? Or if a mate chucks you a CD and says put this in...

Don't let the so called "experienced posters" put you off. If you have a good idea, have done your research and have the time and energy to make it work, why not give it a shot? On that note, read the book "Every Bastard Says No" As for the name, I think you need to make some refence to BMW. I don't think you will be allowed to use "BMW" in your company name, as you aren't authorised by BMW and they won't allow a copy of the logo either. Im sure you can get away with BM or Bimmer though! Good luck!

Very good buying. Even better if you can find someone that will sell you a warranty for it...

A NZ new car will usually be 10-20% more expensive than a jappa, but well worth it. I've owned both and would always go NZ new, even if I needed to pay extra. Driving a low spec import feels just like owning a fake watch (especially if its a 520i or 728i!!!)

Silver is the colour that has the least objections. Some people would never own a black car, red car etc... Silver is easy to keep clean, won't offend anyone and has supposed good resale. Most dealers order silver colours for stock as they are easier to sell off the floor.

Thanks for that - will try those contacts! Would look at any offer over $1000. Surely this could be a good project for someone as I think it would retail on TradeMe for $4000?

My girlfriend this morning crashed her 1999 Citroen Saxo hatch into a parked car. We made the (now) silly mistake of only getting third party insurance. My options are either fix it or wreck it. Being a Citroen it is never going to be worth a lot of money, but it is a very nice NZ new 1600cc auto and has travelled only 54,000kms - the previous owner cherised it and it really is (was) unmarked. Three months ago I did the waterpump, cambelt and replace two tyres. Its a bit of pain to organise as I'm now living in Wellington. The damage doesn't sound too bad as it only needs a new headlight, indicator and LF guard. However, by the time you get quoted painting, aligning, etc etc the costs add up! Does anyone know of a wrecker who could be interested in pricing it, or is anyone here looking for a project? Thanks heaps for your help! [EDIT: Car is in Grey Lynn, Auckland. Will try and get a pic of the damage. Will be calling Bishop's tomorrow to see if they want to buy it!] Here are some pics from earlier in the year:

Hi all If anyone is after a cheap set of 18" alloys, check out my auction which closes tomorrow night. Link:http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=294349920 I'm unsure what, if any, BMW's these would fit! Pickup is in Wellington

They make em now, but I don't think they are very fast sellers...

Green one looks nice. I think an NZ new 540 will be much more desirable than the jap equivalent

I had the same wheel in a UK Import '84 E30 323i

why you shouldn't leave your keys to your bmw with your son

Nice Porsche gauges!

The supercharged 4.0 is second to none when it comes to fuel consumption! Lovely car, but make sure you invest in a bullet proof warranty.

Skate Punk sounds like a rip off of Golf Punk Good idea, but very hard work!
