    Don't you hate...

Maybe it is an Auckland thing, but the one I hate is someone w*nking on about how a mate of theirs "just paid cash for a new [RS4]/[911]/[Range Rover]". Well, good on them... But if they paid cash, why has the car popped up at a Turners Repo auction?

    VW vr6

Too heavy in the nose to be any fun and FWD strugles with the power. Auto will kill the fun factor too. To me, the VR6 was always a 'half way car'. If you want a small, fun hatchback check out a Peugeot 306 or Golf GTI. If you want a four door with a large lazy engine, a 3 series or Audi A4 (with quattro) will be a much better bet.

    The Anti Rice thread.

Not a rice mod, but why are there now so many tribute/RIP stickers adorning rear windows? They should be banned. I also can't stand boy racers with their permanent "for sale" stickers. Do they really think some "hot biatch" is going to text them and ask for a ride in their slammed 190E?
  4. Multiply the prices by three and they are still cheap... V Pocket Rocket

Haven't tried one of these shot things, but did see the new 470ml Red Bull can yesterday. A couple of those could do some damage!
  6. +100 I had the same leather (IIRC is is called 'vesuvius') in my ex-SA alpine white E36 325i

    E30 Touring racecar

Nice, but what is the appeal with using a Touring? I know about the Volvo BTCC cars and the buzz they created, but why not use a coupe / sedan (which will be cheaper and lighter) and then turn the Touring into a wicked road car?
  8. Wow, that seems very expensive! (I guess it is cloth and not leather) Second hand parts could be a better option.

    70 Chev Camaro pics

Looks like someone has put a lot of money / hours into that! I'm not a fan of the wheels, but can see the look you were going for. Are those seats from a 911?
  10. How about running two versions of the calendar - one with pics of girls in it and one without. I would be keen for a calendar but wouldn't buy one with chicks draped over bonnets as I couldn't hang it up in my office or at home! I doubt I am the only one in this situation...
  11. I don't remember too much but can tell you that it was an F1 and the same colour as your car and estimate was in the low 20's.
  12. The cars you have listed above represent automotive excellence compared to what else is available from the States. Driving a Dodge Avenger would have to be one of the worst experiences of my life! A ten year old Daewoo is more sophisticated...
  13. I had a good look at this car in the weekend. It was parked in the showroom at CCS's junk yard (trade in yard, previously Alfa dealership). No one bothered to talk to me so I couldn't get the full story as to why it was there, but I was impressed with how tidy it was (interior and exterior). I did note that the reg and wof were still expired though. Does anyone know more?
  14. Don't mean to hi jack your post, but did anyone see what the one at Turners North Shore went for a few weeks ago?
  15. Spotted a Z3 M Coupe race car on the back of a trailer being towed through Parnell Rd yesterday.
  16. The thing that annoys me the most is how often the clown who writes the D&L guide is quoted in the news! He knows bugger all about cars and has such a closed mind when it comes to anything that isn't an NZ new Corolla.
  17. +100 Unless you are comparing a Civic with a Corolla, The Dog and Lemon Guide is a waste of time.
  18. There was a black one for sale about 6 months ago. Mid $40's IIRC. Awesome car. A classic which is sure to appreciate in value.
  19. Fantastic car. You will really enjoy it. Get it checked over and buy a very comprehensive warranty. My only advice would be to buy NZ new (well, I would advise that no matter what you were buying).
  20. Have you seen this 530D? I bit leggy, but these go like cut cats and are frugal too. Very desirable in black and MSport
  21. $5k is not far off what it is worth. Looks like someone didn't check the auto-bid box!
  22. I don't mean to have a go at you, but what were your intentions when sending this email? If I was the guy who received this email I would be pissed off with your company's arrogance. Aren't these sort of people your largest target market? The ones that would happily spend $3k plus on a set of wheels and tyres for their slammed [insert jap boy racer car here] as well as using your finance too? I bet he will be pretty annoyed when he gets your email and will tell his mates about it to. To me you have gained nothing from this except alienating a customer or two who will now try hard to give their business to a competitor. I shouldn't really comment as it is your business and not mine, but I can't see any benefit in sending those sort of messages to potential customers.
