Ahhh, good old exams. I was at Uni for 5 years and am stoked that I never have to sit another exam in my life! The parties, boozing, shenangins etc in Dunners were awesome but nothing causes more stress than a difficult exam (econometrics, torts and jurisprudence gave me a few grey hairs!).

All of the prices mentioned seem very high! There was an 87 535i at a Turners Classic auction a couple of months back. Was a nice NZ new car on 15" basket weaves. Was automatic though. Passed in at $2k - IIRC reserve was $3k

I was trying to avoid doing this. Unfortunately, I don't have the original XP home disc.

I am selling my old Acer laptop on TradeMe and have listed it at $1 reserve. By way of background it is 1.4ghz, 192mb and has a 40gb hardrive. It is running Windows XP home. How can I delete everything so that the only software left on the computer is Windows? I.e I want it to be like when I bought the computer new. Thanks for your help!

Woah, that last one is cool!

80% of people advertising E30's are dreamers.

Thanks all for your helpful suggestions. Ended up ringing my bank (National) and they set me up with another account in under 5 mins. Best of all, they still have me as being Tertiary, and have applied the same "no fee" scheme to this new account.

Yes, the White Lady is great. Even better now that they take Mermaid Dollars

+ 100 Nothing beats a Ferg Burger. The closest equivalent I have found in Auckland is Hand Made in Kingsland. If you are in Dunedin you MUST get into a yellow curry chicken fried rice from The Friendly Noodle House on George Street. Kebabs from Pasha are also amazing. I miss Dunedin!

Very "off topic", but a question someone on here might be able to help me with... Myself and a few mates are organising a bus trip and need a quick and easy way of getting payment from the 50 people who are coming. I was orginally thinking of just collecting cash on the day, but now I think it is better to collect the money up front (to protect me if people don't turn up). Getting cash now is hard as people are in various centres in NZ. Has anyone had experience collecting payment for such an event? I was thinking of setting up a bank account and then checking off names placed in the reference field, but this looks like it will be time consuming. I'm not making any money out of this, so don't want to spend a couple of hours each day analysing bank statments! Is there anything available on the internet that can assist me? I was thinking of something like Paypal or even a credit card facility, I don't mind paying a transaction fee if it will make payment simple. In an ideal world, there would be a system which emails me with the name of the payer and the amount they have paid. I looked into ASB's Pago, but you can only receive payments from other Pago users. Getting my mates to sign up before they could pay me would probably annoy them!

I'm not suprised you didn't get it. Why would these muppets want to draw attention to themselves? If I drove anything as bad as an MR2 or Celica, I would be quiet about it.
-
Yeah, like the clown who has BBY4RE [baby Ferrari] on his MR2. What a tool.

Damn, and I thought that Hamilton being infested with criminals was just a stereotype.

sh*t yea! Bathurst 1000 this Sunday. I'm looking forward to being extremeley hung over and lying on the couch working my way through a bucket of K-fry and ripping the skin of a slab of XXXX. The TAB has Ford as the favourite, paying $1.60 for the win (Holden paying $2.20). Looks like the Skaife/Murph combo has a good chance for the win.

Spotted - E60 530i MANUAL parked in Fort Street. Was NZ new in silver. Rare car.
-
I had one in my E36. Was pretty lame and created only a dim light
-
Nice idea, but won't your car be anything but original?
-
Someone snap this up! They look like 18" BBS 3 piece alloys. Surely those wheels alone are worth over $1k? Auction starts in half an hour... Link EDIT: carjam suggests it hasn't had a WOF since September '08 - this could be why it is cheap

If you try and buy all of your petrol at BP and swipe your membership card you can usually earn enough points to get your annual membership for next to nothing.
-
All $20k worth of English rubbish? A WINZ Hyundai I30 would be more desirable.
-
Nice one. Are the box of tissues behind the passenger seat to clean up any "stains" deposited on the back seats?
-
Looks nice. You will easily get your money back when you go to sell the car - looks a lot newer and tidier now.
-
Horrid. If I saw you jump out of that car I would be tempted to perform a citizens arrest for crimes against taste!

From pistonheads.com Overfinch has long been associated with doing mildly deranged things to Range Rovers, and its latest creation - a Range Rover designed in collaboration with gun makers Holland & Holland is no exception. The intention, says Overfinch, is to “create the ultimate all purpose, all season, luxury supercar for the discerning fewâ€. Outside there are some relatively discreet modifications, including mildly restyled bumpers, a rear spoiler and some mesh grille work, and you can choose one of four unique paint colours. Overfinch has also fitted 20-inch ‘Tiger’ alloys, although 22-inch versions are available for those more interested in ‘bling’ than driving into a field for a spot of huntin’, shootin’ and fishin’. Inside is where the real work has gone, however. It apparently takes 150 hours to trim the cabin, which uses eight different leathers of a quality normally reserved for private jets as well a 31-piece wood veneer kit. There’s also a hand-made gun cabinet, and a unique four-seat layout, with a rear console with integrated refrigerator and Holland & Holland crystal ware. Undoubted star of the show, however, is the self-replenishing drinks cabinet which comes with an allegedly never-diminishing supply of Pol Roger champagne, The Balvenie single malt whisky, Hendrick’s small-batch gin, Ivan the Terrible luxury vodka and Willow Spring Water from the Lake District (for the driver, presumably). Brings new meaning to the phrase ‘mobile gin palace’, doesn’t it? Overfinch plans to make just 100 Holland & Holland Range Rovers a year, fitted with either the 3.6-litre TDV8, or the much more on-message 503bhp supercharged V8 “The result,†says Overfinch, “is a quintessentially English take on motoring luxuryâ€. If you agree, it will cost you from £139,650 to get your hands on one.
