Reco the torque convertor,(great time to get every last drop of old oil out of the system). Swap out GM module and maybe ign. switch. That should sort 95% of your issues. Get us to do it (can`t be done for free) or ask for help from these well meaning bimmersporters who have been giving you their pearls of wisdom. The solution is very simple.

Go for M62 if possible Amber and if the seller is agreeable bring it to us for a check over. Have some new H&R /Bilstein adjustables for the rear if needed. Hellboy went to Whangamata and back round trip (440k`s) in E39 540 touring towing tandem car transporter with E46 M3 on board- used $170 gas. Keeping in mind that it gets driven like there is nothing being towed that is pretty economical. Forget the 6 cyl idea if you are towing horse float.

Keep it coming guys, the enquiries for manual conversions just keep rolling in. Went for a spirited drive today in my S54 M coupe and tried to imagine an auto version. Yawn...then had a big laugh at the joke. In my world anything pre E60/E90 should spend at least some of its life as a manual.

Ross`s motor sounds like a good option.
