i got 4 factory e30 wheels down stairs. have tires, one has a puncture, 2 are far beyond useable condition and the other seems fine. if your interested let me know
-
thats what i thought but since it was H&R thought they would have made them to be legal in most countries. found a different set though and gonna give my car a little bit of stance hopefully. dads heading out there tomorrow with the mag and shock/caliper/disk to make sure it has enough clearance and fits fine.
-
does anyone know if h&r wheel spacers are legal to cert in NZ. to me they look like the slot on ones which dont bolt to the hub surface, and i thought these were illegal. needing some spacers to fit rx7 calipers to an e30. using dtm fate rims is it means anything to anyone.
-
anyone got any idea if this will fit an e30 with a m52? heard somewhere it wont fit but i kinda need one, sumps the first thing to hit anything...
-
if you still have those RS's in a month or so ill take them, ill keep an eye on them thats for sure
-
you wouldnt be thinking of making some more of those ducts and selling them on would you? could be keen on a set. and loving the car i might add, would be awesome to see this thing on the track one day, when are you next planning on going?
-
not sure why it would be illegal, would just need the certifier to tick it off, and youll need the cert anyway due to the m50 so no issue i see there. but thats just with my limited knowledge so dont take my word for it

with the steering coupler not sure if mines worse or not because ive used an e36 steering rack but to make the cap there bigger i used a can from spagetti or peaches or whatever, cut the same pattern into the bottom of it, made itthe same height and painted it, it still hits every once and a while which i can only tell by the paint being scratched , and its still just as strong as the old sheild and looks just as professional. going to get pit stop to check out the manifold tho and see if anything can be done so there is never any hitting. and with the exhaust i was either going to question the certifier about the cat and do what ever was nessasary that way, ormake up a plate to restrict the exhaust, will mount where the exhaust joins and will be hidden under exhaust sealer which has been used on every other join in the exhaust, get the exhaust certified and get the plates stamped into it, then remove the plate and just go with it. i know it sounds dodgy but i just love the way it sounds and want to keep it that way

id say go full custom, makes the car so much better. and andy yea it sounds awesome with the set up you had. if only it was quite enough for cert, it 3 decibels over and with the manifolds, make sure you use the m52 ones. the cast ones arnt able to be modified to fit past the steering rack

well i just got home from a a day out and found my car in the garage with dad working on it, he somehow put a new end on the throttle cable and has fitted the m40 wiring cover. my new brake rotors and pads have all arrived now and just wanting to get some braided lines then will be doing the full brake setup.
-
first real issue has popped up now. throttle cable snapped last night and need to finda replacement. only issue i dont know what the cable was off. can anyone shed some light on to which one would fit. it wasnt to much of an issue due to having enough torque to idle home in 5th

hows this idea comming along? anyone planning on doing it anytime soon? id be keen on some 16" rims at like 8" front 9" rears. if anyone wants 15" steelies i can get swift ones

though all the m40 radiators i have lieing around, we found one with temperatues that we liked as they were all slightly differant, and after putting the whole setup in about a month ago with the old fan it didnt work, so hooked itup to a manual switch temorarily as i had said. we then traced the issue to the low fan speed being re-routed within the fuse box to the heated seats fuse (of which i didnt have so it was an un-switched circuit) so low speed on the fan had burnt out, we then looked at the high speed wiring for the fan and a similar thing had been done but to a fuse slot that wasnt used at all. after rewiring it all back to factory it now works with 2 speeds. my water tempuratue sensor adaptor should be here tomorrow, my akg delivery has arrived and wow they as amazingly solid. just got to wait for the appropriate time to take the car off the road again and get my walking feet on again

if you dont have a plate the warrent is done on the last 6 (i think) digits of the chassis number, thats how its always done to new cars at my work. and warrents always before rego

ok time for an update got the read swaybar in, was much easier than i thought after i looked propperly and made a huge differance, hooked up my fan to the automatic on/off switch on friday, got an adaptor comming for my temperature sensor. and also got tints last week. will be taking the car off the road again soon to do my suspension and brakes. picked up some billsteins recently and going to get them revalved and rebuilt hopefully this week sometime. put an order into AKG for some bushes. still need to get front lower suspension arms and front pads and rotors to suit my rx7 calipers, and possibly some stainless brake lines and rear pads and rotors. not sure when this "soon" will be tho, possibly start it just after the bimmersport meet on the 1st, possibly into the new year and just out of curiosity, how many people with e30s are planning on going to the combined bimmersport and auckland bmw car club meet on december 1st. would be awesome to see them all there.

im a first year apprentice with a mechanical mind and i made my self a e30 m52. cheated a little by buying a setup ready to install but ended up re-doing the wiring exhaust ect anyway so didnt make much differance. the actual work isnt as hard and youd expect, and if you do run into any issues just put them up on your project thread and youll have an anwser an hour later. but be prepared on the money side of things, number one rule figure out how much itll cost, then double that number and make that your starting budget. its all the little things that make up the big bill EDIT - btw where in NZ are you, helps alot in many different ways. and sorry for the thread hack
-
not to sure as a permanent solution but as skid rims got a set of swift ones that i took a drill to it (big hole saw one) getting it done propperly shouldnt cost to much and could be done but why steelies?? get something that an e30 wil look good with and not ruff like most i see out these days.
-
i use a 10mm drill bit with tape wound around till its a snug fit in the splines. dad made it years ago (before i was born i think) and its never failed
-
you didnt happen to get that plate off another guy called jarrod in auckland did you? im sure that was his plate but havent seen him in a while. was on a toyota last time i heard tho
-
was this in the latest performance car mag?? had a quick glance and sure i saw it in there. good work man. not hugly my type of style but it does look awesome. love the low and wide stance tho
-
thanks for that, yea it has abs, not sure about cruze control as it was only a quick look at the car. and good work with your swap, 2 and a half ish days, thats fast for at home in a garage (thats assuming you did do it at home)

sorry about this, little off topic. is there any difference in the c101 plug between the normal and sport shift (auto) variants. might be putting a m50 in a 325 with it and dont want any proplems to be met. also when i quickly saw the car there appeared to be a 2nd computer in/above the glovebox. was longer and thinner but had a similar plug. will this be something to controll the gearbox again sorry for the interuption, just thought some of you may know as your already talking about it

FS: Custom German/Europlates ORDERS NOW CLOSED - Last Order Before Chr
slowe30 replied to _ethrty-Andy_'s topic in For Sale
when are you planning on putting this order through if it all goes ahead? apprentise wage is hard enough to pay for gas for the new engine, let alone things to make it better -
quoted from another member, similar topic so should still be relivant. its under race series tecnical data but it mainly talks about colours "There is multiple part numbers that are the same color. As far as I know there is two or three part numbers for the M20B20 E30. And the CC ratings they have been given in every book we have checked are wrong. Best people to talk to about them is Petroject out in Albany. "

if you want something simple and effective, an m52b28 would be a good choice. if you want a little more go than that an m series motor could be an idea (s50 or s52) if you want evan more then your looking towards a v8 (an s62 would be awesome) look on youtube for cars that have already had one of these engines and pick and choose between them dont know much about supercharging so ill just leave it there
