Imported from the UK assembled July 2008, rego'd in the UK 5 August 2008 then in NZ 10 August 2012 buy now $16,900. Then later in the add offering 1,2 ,3 yr mechanical warranty doesn't instill much confidence for me in the the reliability of the vehicle or is that a standard thing these days.

Hello and welcome to the forum their are many e30 fans here so no shortage of knowledge to call on. Looking at the photo of the car the only thing that stands out is the wheels (IMO) they just don't fit the body style. As for the steering wheel with John on that just trying to hard to be something it isn't. This is a personnel thing and at the end of the day you have the final decision all the best.

How much do you want Dave as I have the remains of a Sedan M sport roof lining if that is of any use.

Thanks guys will have to go and have a good look at them now.

Interested in members opinions pro's and cons on leather upholstery. The reason I ask I have been trying to obtain a rear seat , cloth M sport type for the ti to complete the change over but have had no luck to date. But by chance came across a set of leather seats the other day and this got me to thinking.

Check out NZAD in Auckland I think the guys name was Gavin they supplied the flywheel clutch kit for the M54 B25 when I did the engine transplant and manual conversion on the ti.

Yes they are both old links and if you have the latest adobe set up they will not let you open them sorry to say. The pic that Will has put up is one of those that I found it appears that the e38, e39 and e46 are very similar.

For some time have been looking for a cloth M sport rear seat for the compact to complete the change over but without any luck. On Friday came across a full set of leather M sport seats in a 04 compact and this set me to think. So what are peoples thoughts pros and con's on having leather seats or cloth?.

Andrew I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your information on the fuel economy you got out of your M3 no matter what system you used. In reading the following post on this thread it reminded me of a Italian drama I think called "A much to do about nothing".

Have a look in the parts cat for the e46 range their is some six different dia's range from 22.5 to 26.5 for the front this appears to be model , engine and suspension type dependent. The rear shows two at 18 or 19 also suspension and model it does not include the M3.
-
The advise given both by Glenn and Nathan is sound you are up for $$$$$ no matter what you do. Do some research and the numbers on fixing the current raft of problems with your N42 and then doing a six cylinder conversion you might be surprised.

Will depend on what the condition of the dual mass flywheel is and if it can be reused. If it cannot you have two options replace it with another dual mass and the appropriate clutch pressure plate set up expensive. Or go a solid one piece flywheel with appropriate spring loaded clutch plate and pressure plate also expensive but less trouble in the long run i.m.o. Used a solid flywheel clutch set up on the M54 when converting it to manual was around 1300 odd from NZAD in Auckland.

A while ago I obtained two plank diamond shape keys off e-bay for my e46. From info gathered on a thread on here cost $100.00 had them both laser cut $40.00. After making arrangements with a member he transferred the info from the ews to the new keys locking and remote access problem solved. Not sure if it has any bearing but the car had the radio system but the ews and other electronic's used came from a infrared system.

So a little more than just the connector rod by the look of it also it was used in the z series e85, e86. Might have to ring around and see if any second hand one's are available.Would still be cheaper than the dealers be interesting to see what they would charge you.

Looking in the parts cat for a 2003 330 e46 sedan part no 37146766778, Pelican has them listed for $18 US.

Welcome it's a common fault with the e39 over the years the wires are twisted back an forth when the boot is opened and closed in the end they brake. Just peel the cover back and check them all out carefully. As you mentioned the final stage unit is another problem but the heater should be giving you some indication, runs on full hot, will run weirdly and won't run at all etc. Due to the age of the e39 most of these faults are well documented now so a search on google or even here should be of some help best of luck.
