Cops and the 4 kmh over posted speed limits

Can't us a sledge hammer approach (speed limits) on a larger problem it doesn't work. Their are many good points made in this thread and these are just a few of the issues which contribute to the appalling standard of driving and road conditions in this country. Start with the mentality of most of the driving public and get it cleaned up next a roading system which can more than handle the traffic volume that are present not one for the 70 or 80's which we have now. Then their may be a light at the end of this problem I said maybe. About as likely as seeing pink pigs fly by i know on a more cheerful note have a Happy and safe New year guys and gales -

Have used a guitar or piano wire like a saw the problem is to get a hole through the urethane to start the process on the e46 I think it was in one of the top corners. Their are professional tools available to do this but they are not cheap.

Good cheer to everyone and be safe out their.

Is the exhaust system a two pipe system from start to finish or two into one?. Don't forget to check that all the earth cables are connected and tight

As Glen has said. The on/off switch on these is a weak point and the switch set up is different from model to model as I found out when I tried to repair mine. Got quoted roughly 150 odd to fix it. This is what I found when I opened mine up a mess of little bits http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o526/Allanson54/radiobits2_zps52bd7539.jpg.

Have you tried here https://www.radio-code.co.uk/philips-radio-codes.html. It appears that some units are coded to the cars vin number in the factory and can only be decoded by a main dealer if your lucky. While others are just coded and the code can be obtained by using a site like the one above. To do this it appears you could need the following info vin number off the car, radio make, model, serial number, bar code if present. It's a real pain in the arse and everybody want $$$$ off you to do it if you are unable to do it yourself it soon adds up. best of luck

What about the other end of the speed scale i.e followed a person doing 30 in a 50k area although some flashing lights saw that solved. -
All you need now is to invent a shrink ray haha

Not sure but remember a post about some one playing with the length of the tie rod bars on a e36 and found they have a different method of transferring air/oil pressure inside the rack to a e46. Might be nothing though if the guts of the rack could be fitted inside the e36 casing.

With Ash on the dental floss method then some white spirits to remove any residue finally a cut and polish to the area were the badge was.

Each their own with projects like these, hat off for the work done though. Would have put the battery in the rear to move some weight back and tidy up the engine bay.

The third photo is of the oil filter housing and cap has the 25 Nm arrow on top going out on a limb it should not have a gap between it an the alloy housing ( as Andy has pointed out) hence the oil staining around it this then heads down wards and creates a mess. Would check it out first undo the oil filter cap and check the "O" ring has not been damaged, nicked due to incorrect fitting. If all good then lightly smear "O" ring with clean oil seat it in the groove and tighten it back up unit it seats correctly clean the area concerned keep a eye on it. 2 cents

According to BMW fans part cat they used the same motor up to Mar 03 part No 52107111878 bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E46-Sedan/USA/328i-M52/may1998/browse/seats/seat_front_tilt_adjustment/ if you want to buy a new one try here you might need a chair http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/PEL_search_2014.cgi?SUPERCAT_FLAG=Y&make=BMW&Context_make=&please_wait=N&LastVisited_input=0218&Previous_Section=&forumid=&threadid=&LastVisited_input=0218&make=BMW&description_side=52117111878&GoSearchSideFlag=T&command=DWsearch&command=DWsearch&REFINE=Y&FORUM_REFER=&SUPERCAT_FLAG=Y&Previous_Section=&LastVisited_input=0218&make=BMW&description=52107111878&x=40&y=15

Hi, Might be able to help out sent you a PM Cheers

As Allan has shown you will need to fit drive shaft hoops (pita). The other reason I found out was the vin number for your car has certain info ie engine cc, auto, four door, wagon etc. When you change this the vin info is incorrect for this vehicle's current state and needs to be altered and logged with vtnz hence the cert and plate are required. Its to keep all the paper work in order paper war and you have to pay for it to keep it all legal. One of the many joys of modding a vehicle these days best of luck

If manual check the condition of the pivot ball for the clutch fork.

Bloody coupe drivers, wouldn't see a wagon messing up like that

You hit it on the head with "an idiot " bit but "thinks" seem to be lacking greatly. -
Please answer me this some time ago I wished to change the plates on my project car to TIM325 from memory the standard plate set was $400.00 and $600 for a euro set. So if I wait awhile until the "T" series plates are being used with new rego's what will it cost me then?. Maybe a word to the body that controls business affairs or such might be interested in the monopoly that is present?
