  1. Hoon, wonder how many tyres he burns up doing his runs with these cars
  2. Hi Charles, Maybe nothing but check the part numbers for the lower wheel arch liners as their are a few different types used on the various e39 models.

    Aesthetic paint mods

What look are you after as this is a personnel issue. The all black makes it look gangster like but with a discreet amount of chrome the prestige factor is retained also a nice set of wheels goes a long way to set the look of a vehicle would ditch those orange bits.

    X5 M, X6M

Really haven't had a look at both of them in any detail but Oh dear tell me more? In looking further Allan found this on the X5m http://autoweek.com/article/car-news/2015-bmw-x5m-x6m-get-new-engine-trans-lap-timing-app
  6. Could be a bit hit and miss to answer with out some more info are the valves new, old have they been refaced along with the seats. Have the valves been lapped in with grinding paste. Could check by smearing the vale face with bearing blue then insert it into valve guide and slam it onto the valve seat this should leave you a mark on the valve seat an hence what contact is being made between the seat and valve face.
  7. We'll for give you this time.
  8. Hi all opened my emails and found one from pelican which had a few articles this one caught my eye. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-x1-x3-x4-x5-x6-forum/839465-2015-x5-m-x6-m-make-their-world-premieres-la-auto-show-pics.html#post8362342?utm_source=pelican_bmwnewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20141120 enjoy
  9. Darn, Julian don't spoil it think of the fun haha!. On a serious note well done to one and all in the back ground that organized this event.
  10. Is it a E36 Compact as they can have either a infrared or radio remote set up. The infrared type with two buttons these batteries can easily be swapped out the three button diamond shape key radio type are a little more difficult plus these are charged through the transducer ring when in the ignition lock. The keys may simple be out of sync and need to be reset. The site Michael has posted seem to cover it all best of luck.
  11. Hi Members have parts left over from Donor car and Recipient vehicle which I wish to dispose of. Their are over a hundred bits and pieces so to many to list here. Just a few are instrument cluster 325i $100, rear sport seat $75, door locks $35 each, rear screen $80, bumpers front $125 and rear includes cross beam $100 Compact and so forth . Just ask if you need anything and I will try and help out. Thanks Allan
  12. The write up Julian has covers it the only thing I found was pre-cut the new thread in the adjusters before you fit them into the headlight. This reduces the strain placed on the adjuster and makes it easier when you come to re- assemble the headlights and adjust them.
  13. As other have mentioned a heat gun can be used but take care you do not damage the plastic I got the dealers to do my first one and they cooked the plastic using a heat gun hence the oven got used on the next few I did. As mine were 2000, 2001 didn't have that problem but thanks Martin for the heads up on the difference Keep at it you will get their it's a pain I know but nothing come for free.
  14. Make one easy http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=464226 it even gives you the dimensions for it. If removing the fan remember these have a left hand thread.
  15. That looks nice a good balance of black and white and hope you are happy now shes all back together with summer just around the corner. This is my personal feelings the lower grill a "T" bar instead of the chrome rings not sure on the wheels. But enjoy her they are a nice car to go cruising in.
  16. Go back to the person she bought it from and ask them for all the history they have on the vehicle who, when, where and how then go from their. Also get in touch with a vehicle compliance agent and get some info and idea from them on the process under taken with importing a vehicle and getting it complied here in NZ. This may give you and her a better understanding of what happens and how you might proceed. Sounds like she could be in for a bit of grief and heart ache.
  17. Words fail me on bm forum but its a F O R D
  18. Welcome Jordan plenty of guys been down the manual conversion path so plenty of help should you decide to go their
  19. Thought for awhile Richard you meant the car or liked digging your self into trouble but the last photo say's it all lol
  20. On the right hand side of the expansion tank their are two images of what the coolant levels are supposed to be. You can almost see one in the photo set it to the low one and go from their. Even so take the lower protection panel off and have a real good look were the coolant is coming from.
  21. How over full was it? as it appears to be leaking from the lower hose radiator connection. As Jibs has mentioned jack it up and remove the plastic cover panel to get a better look. It could be as simple as a worn O ring in the hose but have a look first and take it from there.
  22. Yea about 1.5 k away if you want pm me and give me some details
  23. Have something that looks like that wires connected to it are. With the connector like you have it in the photo bottom row left to right. Yellow/ black, yellow /red, gray/ black, gray/red. On the top row the first three spaces are empty next brown/black, red/brown. You can have it for nothing if correct just pay the mail cost. Cheers
  24. Have a chat to Martin first. The face lift type lights can be opened up and the adjusters replaced if they are broken, As they us the same ones as the pre face lift lights heaps of write ups on how to do it though fiddly and takes a while. If you remove the headlight and give them a shake and they rattle it will be the bits of adjuster loose inside the headlight and you will have your answer.
