" Lemongrass & Ginger for energising, Vanilla Bean to calm, and Lotus Flower for balance and clarity." thought it might be the new green fuel that it runs on Oh what a bunch of jealous keyboard critics we all are , Go and enjoy Julian and give us a heads up on it later on

Thanks Glenn had a feeling it was something like that. Tony not sure but if you could seal the holes up I don't see why not. Other may have different ideas wouldn't be to costly for something like that or should I have not said that BMW parts never can tell

Sorry have to disagree on this one it is time BMW got real on it's pricing structures. It's insane the amount of profit that is being made on items these day, not just cars. Don't get me wrong a company needs to made a proof to stay in business yes. But a the cost of losing it's current client's and potentially new ones because the price is to high and they, the customers can get a similar product else were for less. Doesn't sound like good business sense to me, sell at a lower price and sell more than at a higher price and only sell one just my ten cents for the day.

Hi Brandon, Would put my money on a 530i model 2002-03 why balance, power, ride, handling, luxury, economy owned one for five and half years had good times and bad with it but over all a very nice vehicle to own.

It is just another avenue that Kiwis are using to get the best valve for their dollar and if you can get a warranty with it then it's icing on the cake. The market in the UK is way larger than NZ a given of coarse that is why they have a larger range and options to choose from plus the price is lower. Maybe BMW NZ needs to have a closer look at it's self because with the savings that could be had it still leaves a lot of $$$$ to cover any repair bills before the NZ price is reached. Which could result in less sales than would have occurred other wise this does not only apply to new BM's. Have always been of the opinion that the older BM's have been over priced and sellers need to get real in todays market have a look at how many are on the road now and for sale also.

As Allan a stated use the correct coolant if possible distilled water also. then get the ph level checked and get it right. Have been told, right or wrongly it is vital to have this all in balance as if not things can go wrong real quick.

Hi Dave, Welcome to the e39 world have a search on the net their is a write up on how to do this. The following is what I did after reading his write up he stated you DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Remove headlight from car and strip all the rubber bits, vent tubes, bulbs every thing off them. You can us the sun if shinning, heat gun or a oven heated to around 60 degrees C give or take a few. Place the headlight unit in the oven and leave it for 5 minutes this softens up the adhesive that seals the outer lense etc. Remove from oven and slowly begin to prize off the outer lense and undo the odd retaining clip as you work your way around it, real sticky stuff. Once you have the lense and inner cover off you will be able to see what is happening. Remove the inner lense/ reflector etc and you will see how the adjusters are attached. Before you reassemble things slide the new adjusters into position and wind the adjuster screw into them to cut a new thread lub if need be. Then unwind them and secure to the headlight relectors, re locate in the correct place and attach the adjuster screw to the adjuster, take note of the adjusters I think they are different sizes. When you come to reassemble the inner cover and lense you will need to make sure the adhesive is warm and sticky so it can reseal again. All the vent holes and channels need to be clean once assembled fit the headlights to the car and have them adjusted correctly. Bets of luck if you have a go at this yourself. Allan

Hi Dave As Brent as mentioned broken headlight adjusters a common problem with the e39, old age catching up : The auto levelling set up I thought was fitted to the Xenon lights only? works off suspension movement through a sensor to the self levelling motors on the headlights. Their is a manual height adjusting switch on the right side of the dash, from memory the more common method to lower the headlight beam when you have the car loaded up. Is your a face lift or pre face as both can be opened up and the adjuster replaced although the face lift type are a bit more of a pain in the rear. Hope you get to the bottom of this and it is an ease to fix.

Hi all can anyone assist me please. HAve been trying to have a look at the wiring circuits on the e46 trans using the WDS BMW wiring system web site and cannot get the circuits to show up. Can enter the model then open the various sub levels to get to what I require then click or double click on it. It turns dark green then nothing shows on the right hand side. Do I need to be logged in, have a plug in like Java or something before this will work or have I missed a simple step some were along the line thanks for your help. Allan

Three things spring to mind the mechanical belt tensioner, if type fitted is chattering because the spring is loosing it's tension, your water pump is on the way out or one of your drive belt pulleys is worn.
