  10. Tongue must have been in the right place it's out Haha! just needed a little wriggle after inserting the pin. The position I had the key in was a couple of mm off to far round so it's as clear as mud once you can see how it all works thanks Grant.
  11. Thanks guys will go and have another crack at it.
  12. Have been trying to remove the ignition lock, barrel from it's housing on the steering column. Have read and watched a video of how to do it but I still can not get the barrel to come out. What am I missing, removed the black plastic ring from the barrel assemble, insert the key and turn to upright position, insert metal pin into small hole on the side of the barrel, check position is correct by inserting pin and moving the key, pin then moves inwards some 40mm then turn the pin anti-clock wise and wriggle and pull and the barrel should come out. It didn't so I tried turning the pin clock wise and wriggling it about still no joy. Have I missed something or I have struck one that is going to be a b@33$5h. Would like to get it out undamaged if possible any thoughts ideas please.

Hi Clinton are you any the wiser haha sorry don't wish to seem harsh but welcome to the building industry. It has been a night mare for those of us that work in it trying to keep up with all the changes that have and still are happening. As I said before and others have now enlightened to it is going to need some careful planning and still in the end a consent may have to be issued for you to construct your covered in area to the size and shape you had first told us about. As to NZ3604 was under the impression that it was only a guide these days for designers to use when doing their plans and the main guide used was AS2/EL , could have this wrong though. The paper pusher have it well and truly sown up and have no problem o of raping your wallet for you. Best of luck with it but I feel you are going to have a fair bit of frustration coming your way if it hasn't already keep trucking with it and something is bound to develop for you. Cheers Allan

Hi Clinton, how long ago was it that you built the other covered in area as you maybe able to use the same method of construction for this new project. Although with all the changes going on in the building industry and with what you have mentioned you could need a permit to carry out this job. Plus a qualified builder to help you carry it out or one that is willing to sign it off for you as being up to the curtain building code. If not it could come back to bite you when you try to sell and it is found to have these additions and no permits to back them up. Sorry to be a joy germ but to do any structural building work these days properly the system has you by the short and curlees and charges accordingly.
  18. MMMM!!! Personal either you will Hate them or love them. Andy' Yes you could have those modern bimmers for that sort of money. But not with the style, grace and history that come's with the 327/28. It is the first ever genuine coupe and not to mention expensive 7,450 -8,100 Reichmarks back in 1938. It also was the beginning of the 328 story I believe which featured not that long ago.
  19. Glad you managed to get them hope you didn't damaged the dash material to much by forcing them home. Looking at the dash all that was required was to turn the clip 90 degrees/ vertical insert in hole push inward and turn 90 degrees now horizontal. The mounting holes are larger one way than the other.
  20. This may be of some help a 2002 406HDi auto Peugeot getting 1100km to a tank of diesel about 72ltr tank this lasts my wife a fortnight it is not bad to ride in either. RUC is 4.5cts a k and rego is $480 odd may need to check on service periods compared to petrol. Have heard that the 407 is hungry on fuel compared to the 406 due to the increase of HP. Getting on chipped is not cheep around a grand but might be worth checking it out if your that way inclined The 2002 e39 530i I had did 735 to 750k to a tank on 95 a little more on 98 tank held 70 odd ltrs. The ride was great this was about 90 percent open highway running for both vehicles. Cheers allan
  21. As title states interested in your opinions on the pro's and con's on these two types of flywheel, clutch set ups. The vehicle concerned will be a street car with the odd venture on to the track.
  22. That is why is was called Grab, Steel, Take or God Save Trading when it was first introduced. It is the easiest revenue gathering measure the Government ever introduced they get you the business owner to do all the work and then they spend it. It is time for a review of the whole GST system in my opinion but in saying that it is only tinkering. What the Government give you in one hand they legally steel out of the other as they need to gather the revenue to keep the system a float. As other have said just know that $400 is the cut off point and tailor your purchase's accordingly.
