Thanks guys, surprising what things weigh when they are all added up.

Does any one have or know of a site that gives the weight's of engines and gearbox's etc.

Great viewing just shows what can be done. Would like to know what mileage it had on it and did they have have any warning lights thrown when they changed the lights over and other little details.

Had goodyear F1's on the front and Bridgestone gt's on the rear, 235/45 17. Found this to be a good set up in both the wet and dry. Pressures set at 38 with one or two people higher if fullly loaded.

Looking at getting a car transported down from Auckland any suggestion on who to use and who to stay away from. Thanks

My wife found them to be a bit sardine ish, not much clearance around the pedals, the seats did not have the right feel, not sure what she ment and she found out first hand what they are like in a cross wind. Hence she bought a 02 406hdi and is happy with it. Off track does anyone know if their is a part catologue for the peugeots like realoem.com or bmw fans out their thanks.

What about the extra wear and tear on the starter motor and the battery with the extra use and maybe worse with city driving?.

If you want I have a few bits left from a rebuild of my cup holders. Just a point of interest the sensors for the air con are in the little grills above the drink holder if you have a hot or cold drink in their with the heater /air con going have a guess what the senors register as a temp reading to tell it what to do. Hope that all makes sense.

What about a engine trans plant or trans swap? on models later than 2000

Who can and has done this before and are you willing to disclose how. Been looking on a few sites and getting a few clues on it. But having done it first hand can make all the difference rather than reading it off a thread.

Sorry could someone explain this to me why a 16 year old vehicle in the condition it is in would return you nine grand in parts are they made off gold, people buying them loaded and don't care or the person selling the parts is over charging like a wounded bull. I understand that the m's are ment to be the top of the model range concerned but in it's present state it just leave me bewildered.

Withdrawn by owner mmm. Reserve set at $9,000.00 highest bid $6560 no Buyer Price equilibrium their. What made him think it was worth 9,000 grand in the condition it was in??

Getting to be a load of B.S and it's not Bimmer sport.

The report states 9 world wide, your's could be the one that goes puff. At least they had the balls to do the recall and with the profits made form how many million's sold 30 minutes to fix each one shouldn't put to much of a dent in the balance sheet. :

That's good and takes care of 2012 what about all the prevoius years when the badge on the back of the car did not truely reflect what the vehicle was.
-
Confused!! I am, if you were a person looking to buy a newer bmw hope like hell the dealer can explain all the difference etc etc because just reading this thread is looks a mess. BMW needs to get back to basic's and build and badge vehicle's which tell the customer what it is, if it is 2ltr and has twin turbos bla bla then so be it. But make it clear to the consumer not all the B.S that they are handing out at present. Not wanting this to sound like a rant but have come across this first hand while looking for another beemer and it gets to be a pain in the arse looking at something which it is not just my 10cents chuckle

I found the fact that its automatic the biggest hassle, it didn't respond when I needed it to. Did you have the DSC turned off and is your's straight auto, tip or step tronic? I found out if you turn off all the fancy electronic's and put it in manual mode you get a lot better feel of what the car is doing. just a thought if you wish to try it again on the track.

Have viewed the photo' s of the interior sorry not impressed the wood grain used makes it look crap pie imo the style of the dash and centre console does nothing for me either. How many options does one need and then to use them all the time if at all. The speedo also I feel one would need to be careful as the outer circle of numbers is in miles per hour and the smaller inner one is K's easy to get them confused, all those buttoms to play with what a candy store haha. On the plus side it is a diesel and manual if that floats your boat but sorry for the money they want I feel their are better buys available.

Check on trademe their are some for $79 odd not sure of the quality etc. that would be great to check them out Paul thanks. Just checked and they have Philips Germany Hg D2S 35W 85122 E1 03V DOT 2L527 written on the base

Thanks thought that they may have to be plugged in to test. Not to sure what the 12volts would do they need a hefty charge to ignite the gas I believe.

was it plastic or metal Greg

Was given a pair of these and apart from fitting them to the correct headlight, which I don't have is their any way to tell if they are still OKl Cheers
