This is now on trade me along with a rear bumper and soon the rear clash strips off a m-sport rear bumper fitted to the e39.

mmmm looks nice but out of my price range. How much extra does the chipping gain and a what cost not only for the chip but extra fuel used in gaining the extra HP. On another note have asked for some interior shots and with it being a UK import what is the distance recorded in miles or k's.

Thanks Brent, I can take it then that the 3,38, 3,91 after the part numbers are the ratio's if so then would the s205a have something to do with the gearbox type used with that ratio diff?.
-
Can anyone direct me to a site or knows what the diff ratios would be for an 03 -04 318ti /318i with the 2ltr motor both auto and manual also the one's in the 316 Thank you

You may need to check the bolster on your seat also as these flatten out over time with the force applied to them as you get in and out of the vehicle. This in turn puts pressure on to the plastic cover resulting in them braking and they are not cheep to replace new from the dealers. Also be careful if you have to remove the seat control knobs as these have a habit of braking off real easy, the main back and forward one I found to give the most trouble I wish you luck.

Just for interest sack checked some of the details of this M5 on RealOEM.com they don't line up. Chassis No WBSNB92000CV17160 as stated in Trade me photo, unless I have it wrong. It comes up as E63LCI,left hand drive, prod month of 05/2008, 635D. Or just a simple wrong chassis number provide maybe?.

My e39 530i is needing a top up of coolant each week. How much coolant are you talking about? and have you found any visiable signs of a leak, wet carpet, green crusty stuff on anything. The expansion tanks can crack on the e39's also a faulty cap to name a couple of things. But as Stated get it looked at pronto nothing BMW likes getting hot with out it putting a hole in your pocket. Best of luck.

How is the distance that is displayed on your instrument cluster determined kilometres or miles and can it be altered. Say a UK import showing miles be changed in to kilometres.
-
woops sorry !!!
-
Are you changing the Headlights or tail lights. As stated not pulg and play the rears on the face lift have a flat six pin connector 2000 on I think. Before 2000 they had a a rectangular two row connector with four pins in one side and three in the other. Have a couple some place will dig them out and post up a picture.

Coming across a 325ti is one thing and at a reasonable price is another. Will keep looking but thanks for the info Glen.

Thought I had been, swap out the total front suspension, motor, gearbox from say a Saloon 330 year 2003 into a compact of similiar year the way you did your swap Glen but on an e46. The rear end may be a different kettle of fish still looking at that.
-
Could some one tell me please on the e46 range. On a saloon, tourer, hatch /compact not coupe from the front bumper to the back of the front doors B pillar I think it is called are they the same body demensions for example put a total front suspension from a saloon say into a compact if they were the same year/ month of assemble or is it not that easy. Cheers

Hi Ray what price on the front bumper complete fogs etc and do they have PDC.. Thank you
-
Greg you can get the lower liners new from pelican in the states cost me about $60NZ to do both on the 530i still have the old ones if interested. The sensor is available also $53.00 genuine and $23.25US for a brand Febi but you should be able to get a discount through Grays surely.

If you are keen have a go at making it up your self us the rear set up as a pattern and go for it. Get a wiring loom etc off another vehicle and mod it to suit. May need to check that the main control unit can handle both front and rear first just in case.

Their is a pair for sale on trademe for $650 or ask Ray at Hellbm he maybe able to help you out. The adjuster are a plastic material and become brittle with age. It is a time consuming job to strip the headlights and cook them to soften the sealant material so you can open them, for the later headlights but not difficult to undertake. Have an idea of what you want your lights to look like as their are a number of different combinations in the lights for the e39's.

New way to stiffen your suspension!
allan replied to cliffdunedin's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Balls all round haha!!, well thought I had seeen it all but may have to review that as some new idea pops up just to keep you on your toes would it really stiffen it or just add more bounce, so...---rry just couldn't help myself. Happy New Year everyone. -
Welcome to the 5 series family Charles! A good buy for 4k if you attempt to clean your headlight lenses you may find that the inside of them may need to be cleaned also to get a worth while effect. A clear euro light set up makes them look a whole lot nicer and if you wish to play with the nav to get it working, if not already working but in joy the ride. Cheers Allan
