Best of luck on that but have a look here http://www.ddmtuning.com/product.php?II=76 not sure if they will ship which is the biggest hurdle to over come I found. Let us know how you get on.

We all will have an opinion on this one, some for some against. When you get behind the wheel and drive you have a weapon at your disposal and how you deal with that is your choice. To impair your decision making by having had a few drinks, is still a poor decision no matter what time span has elapsed. Look at the millions it costs NZ for the damage done when an accident occurs involving alcohol. With a zero limit acroos the board we all would be winners with less ACC charges, car rego and other benifits it might bring. The culture needs to change if not by education then maybe this law change and others will give it a push in the right direction. This is only my opinion and I know others will disagree but it all leads to health discussion. Cheers Allan

This is a beginning but needs to be extended across the whole driving spectrum. In conjunction with a change in the mind set of most kiwis about alcohol / driving in general. A few people will always try and buck the system but the majority will come to see it is worth it to reduce the financial and emotional cost to us all. Also how many of us can honestly say they have never had a drink and then driven?.

The limit is $400NZ before the customs can charge you GST etc. But must say I have had some large orders go through and not been charged, touch wood . What I have found for the quickest turn around is order on a Wednesday or Thursday night the order is then checked into their system, filled and dispatched. At LAX airport and on a plane friday night then general arrives at your door step by Monday. Best of luck

Hi Colin have purchased parts from Pelican for some four years now and have found them to be good to deal with it general works out to be about one third cheeper than NZ. Plus with the high NZ dollar it makes it less painful on your wallet just check on the freight cost as their are a few different choices. Cheers Allan

Wanted e39 clear tail lights, performance exhaust 530i
allan replied to Jamex316's topic in Want to buy
Try ebay e39 Euro clear tail lights and e39 exhaust system. Be careful and buy good quality Hella or the like. You will also need either ballasts for the tail lights or get the LCM re-programmed. As the face lift model has LCD type light bars for their tail lights not bulbs. -
Not to throw sand in the works Brent but have been stung by these sorts of kits before. The quality of the parts are a big ? mark. The reason I know I bought one and just over one year later, warranty finished the rubbers failed and then the ball joints also. Trying to save a few dollars in the short term cost me almost if not double the price and frustration in the end. Just make sure the quality is good and their is back up service if it all turns to custard. Just my experience with things like this off ebay Cheers

As Jono has stated you or your friend have left things way to long. Your shudder under braking, worn suspension joints, support arms as you have shown, contorl arms, these could be both the bushes and the ball joints gone, worn or warped brake disc's, out of balance wheels , tyres to a lesser degree worn anti sway bar links. These prices and parts are from Pelican parts in the states and at the present x rate Front support arm $139.50 each these are the OME brand Front Control arm $152.076 each " " " The rear ball joints are $45.40 each Frieght estimate only $80.00 The ball joints in the rear my require speical tools to fit but mine cost me around 400 fitted. This included a full alignment / front and rear set up. You may find more rear links are/ have failed so it could more expensive so the price is only for what you have told us of. You will be in the realm of 750 to 1000 to remedy this mess that is using good quality parts other wise you are fooling your self. Little joy in this I know but I hope it helps you out Cheers Allan

It is not only confined to these models I feel. With the number of imports now available BMW have lost that prestige factor and have become as common as most other makes and models available on NZ roads. Instead it appears that all imports from Japan will be going up by about two grand due to the disaster their. Will this apply to all other imports also?, will that mean that a trade in will be worth more, I don't think so. Does any one feel sorry for the poor car sales man?.

New to the forum, just got my first BMW!
allan replied to chenjianxi's topic in New Member Introductions
Chris so is my 530 a family car but I did a few subtle mods ie rear spoiler, Led angle eyes. M5 type rear mirrors and clear Euro kit etc as mine is dark blue just made it a bit sharper IMO. -

Welcome Chris to the forum and the 5er family. As Hotwire stated get that oil warning light checked out might be fine now but if left could be a head ache later on believe me. A quick check of the plug connection on the sump may reveal something, mine played up after going through water the connection was loose and water got into it. The pixel problem is a common one if you are game their is a write up of how to repair it yourself but a good electronic's place would be a safer bet, mine cost me around $300 odd. Do you have any other plans for the car? -
Like to be able to drive the new 1m have a look at this. http://www.performancecar.co.nz/news-5900/...ussie-racetrack

I hear what you are saying but if the people concerned the one's with the skills are in a group type contract ie union drive. Then maybe they should have told the union to get lost and make a deal with the company on their own if they really wished to keep their jobs. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds and how in all aspects

So from what you have said you would be against taking a job which gave you an income to support your family and part of the package included health benifits as well, which I believe are not cheep in Canada or the States.

Hello and welcome, a couple of easy mods, upgrade the angle eyes to LED makes them brighter than the standard one's, see photo. Fit a rear camera as the e39 does not have good visiabilty while backing IMO. If your's is fitted with the nav set up convert it over so it will function here in NZ, contact Hotwire he will be able to fill you in on what is involved.
