Not sure I can help but changing from cloth to leather would have no bearing on the belt tensioners that I could see. Do you know the year and type of vehicle the seats came from. Are your orginal seats and these new ones manual or electric controlled. Have a look on WDS spaghetti wiring codes it might be able to help you The front cloth electric operated seat I have all go into one large yellow connnector as do the ones on the manual seats on the other car although on the manual seats the connector is smaller.

It would appear that some of you know this guy and his an tic's . Even if his business dealings are doubtful according to the opinions given on here was he directly responsible for Jaguar dropping their car prices or did other issues coarse it? . A win for any prospective buyer IMO and if he is short circuiting the normal system for these vehicles being sold and this has an effect on warranties etc. Surely a new buyer would raise this issue with him and get it sorted before purchasing or have I missed something. Now extending this further can this be applied to new or near new BMW's being imported what is the situation with these vehicles and their warranty, servicing etc.

Have to get something similar done to and was quoted around $350 that was shorten and re-balance from a Palmy Nth company. Have been advised that the BMW shafts are fusion welded not like other which are only just welded this can be a bit of a hassle. Something to do with not having a boss on the joint end to re -attach the shaft and needs to be sleeved but best of luck let us know which way you decide to go..

Nathan it is based on about 75% highway and 25% city from memory like I said the 5 series it a highway cruising vehicle not a city dweller.

Give it a surprise and drop $80.00 of 98 in it and some open road next floor it look in the rear mirror and watch the developing cloud as you blow all the crap out of the exhaust system then watch the ltrs/ks drop chuckle chuckle . All joking aside give it a decent run and let it warm up properly the 5s are a highway vehicle not a city dweller in the five odd years I had mine it never did less than 30 miles/ gallon, 9.4ltr/100k or 735 to 750k to a tank full.

Hi one and all wish to purchase some side skirt clips these are for a Ti m-sport. These clips are different from the standard skirt clips, see photo blue colour are standard black are sport. Have looked up BMW fans and they only show a number for the standard one's Ray hasen't got any and the same with other firms I've tried my last place of call would be the dealers. Does anyone work for a firm that might be able to make them using these 3D imaging machines I've seen or would that be expensive as after a dozen or so of theses clips. Cheers Allan

Hi one and all have a number of e46 Sedan parts from a vehicle I'm parting out to name but a few. Window regulator $70.00 Hoodlining m-sport type $80.00 Door cards m-sport full set or four $50.00each bare door card only Black cubic door trim 4 pieces $150.00 Centre console items, cup holder, coin holder and rear ash tray Some of these have been and are on trademe their is more but the common things like bumpers, headlights, tail lights , mags etc have gone if you want something just ask old photo.

Have you tried searching for info into this on here as I went through this with my 530i a few years back and put up a thread on what I did. In the end purchased a pair of broken Xenon headlights from a 540 and swapped the whole interior assemble into my headlight housings. These were the face lift type so a bit of a pain in the rear to open up along with replacing the adjuster which was told by the dealers could not be purchased also replaced the angel eye bulbs with brighter led type. As been mentioned the lenses on these lights yellow up with age but can be cleaned with care and the brightness restored until is occurs again.

I understand that NZ is a small market and prices are higher but to the degree they are sorry it's not on. In the last 8 years odd I have purchased a lot of parts for BMW's and given the local dealers the chance to quote on these parts but have not yet, sorry an oil filter found any of their prices to be able to match those of the company's I deal with that includes either genuine or OEM parts plus including the freight charges. Most people these days are looking for valve for their hard earned dollar and if an item can be had for cheeper at the same quality why not I believe it's called competition or is that being smart in spending your dollar. It will no doubt be an on going problem but people general find a way around those sorts of issues wonder if BMW is aware of how much they are loosing in parts sale also with 15% being added for Grab Steel and Take only compounds the problem. If one can afford it I believe the best way to go is to bring a vehicle into NZ your self as long as you do your research on it etc. As mentioned these can be had for thousands of dollars cheeper than in NZ and with better spec levels if available at all in this country.

Hi the e39 had final stage resistor problems these just wear out with time and need to be replaced,or the speed set for the fan speed is faulty. Still feel the best of the e39 family is the 530 in balance of power weight and the handling sure the 540 or M5 has the get up and go factor but comes at a price.The 520 on the other hand goes the other way and is under powered for the vehicle weight etc.

Thanks Glen I was leaning to that idea myself thought I would ask. Have a couple of mirrors which have extra features on them but damaged parts looking at trying to mix and match to get one good set out of the two.
