Not sure if this is of any help but a few of the US sites have made mention of the gear shift inter lock pin system becoming worn and coursing jamming and hard gear shifts. Maybe a search on these site could help you out just a thought. Cheers happy new year

If it is the final stage resistor Pelican has them one at $59 and OEM at $77.50 US or try Gavin at Euro-Italian. To fit it is a 10 minute job a bit tight but easy enough to do. Cheers

Have you factored in the road user charge's about 4.5 cents a k I believe and the extra rego now required, 406hdi pug $481.00 odd to your overall running costs.

Beekres2; could have been was around yr 2000 and red looked to be well knocked about. Just thought Ray might have been interested?.

By any chance did you get onto that m3 at Turners at all.
-
My first thoughts, if it floats your boat or how long is a piece of string. Just looking at it as a motor vehicle, no BMW or M3 emotion I would have to say it is over priced imo other will disagree no doubt.

All arguements aside their is one hell of a mess to clean up ever body has to agree on that!. So forget the polly anne's having a go at each other to score points that is only a red herring. All hands to the pumps, pun intended and get the mess cleaned up no point in bitching about it now get it sorted. Then Go the captain and other's who can be held responsible for it. Couldn't help myself after all I've said when I say this just a bit of a laugh. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/environment/news...jectid=10758879

http://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/5770592...unded-ship-Rena click on the "next" it has a few photo's one picture of how stuck this ship is. As stated NZ herald 70 containers have fallen off the ship so far. If that sort of force is present to knock them off why can't the powers to be us the bad weather to attempt to move the ship off the reef or it that to simple. Wondering if the locals would like to meet the Officers and capatian of the Rena behind the local tool shed and get things sorted.

And so it begins http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/fresh-oil-...en-ship-4458598. At least it is sitting up a little straighter.

Yes would have to agree on the behind the scenes Troy, but four days to get a tanker down from Auckland to start pumping then only get 10 tonnes off and have to stop. Wonder if this bad weather could be a blessing to help the ship off the reef?. Hope for the whole area that this doesn't turn into a big mess.

So the Aussie taxi drivers had a good day out

Is it just me or is everything reactive to what has happened not pro active. They wait until it starts to leak oil then get the stuff to contain or disperse it and a firm has some stuff to stop it already here in NZ and they don't us it. It is only now that salvage people are arriving to asses the situation why so slow to get their act together. The number of containers 2171 staked about six high and some 1,7000 tonnes of heavy fuel oil, 70 tonnes of diesel NZ Herald. What a time bomb hope when it all comes to bear that some one or bodies have their heads and arses handed to them on a silver plate for the damage that has been coursed even if it goes no further than it has already, sorry but in a pigs eye

Welcome to the dark side of e39 ownership hahha!!!. As Jono stated wise move, don't drive it. This could be the beginning for you of a complete cooling system Overhaul hope not. Check the whole system out hoses, plastic connections, water pump, thermostata, heater core etc etc. Is this of any help http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-412983509.htm. If you have deep pockets try a crowd in America which have an aluminiun and electric fan set Zionville or some such name not cheep. Best of luck

Hi - I've taken the plunge and bought a BMW!
allan replied to tmase's topic in New Member Introductions
The reverse camera would be the easier option for you have a chat to hotwire he may have something sorted for the e39, trade me one looks ok. As for the towing eye covers shouldn't be to much of a problem silver is a standard colour. Should be a dismantler in Chch that has some or if not get hold of Brent or Ray on here. -
E39 Touring - anyone had dealings with this caryard?
allan replied to wolfman's topic in TradeMe discussions
http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=7327 have a read of this it may help. At those K's it is getting close to a number of items showing signs of wear. The 5 series has taken a big knock down in price for some reason with that in mind the asking price for this is a bit on the high side imo. Would ask some of the Auckland Guys to help out and see if any of them would have a look for you might save on airfares. Best of luck in your search no matter what the outcome. Are you set on a touring as I have a sedan for sale. -

Welcome to the 5er family it seems to be growing! . How close to stock do you mean, as a change to LED angle eyes and some stealth bulbs in the rear to give it a clean smarter look imo. Wise move on the reverse camera or rear PDC as when reversing the e39 you have very limited visibility. Enjoy
