Had a look on Wiki and it made mention of a few item. The later csi's had the round tail pipes, earlier models had square, the one I saw had square. Interesting thanks for the info.

While in the Square Palmy Nth to day came up behind a V12 850CSi Black with Euro Plate V12 CSi made me look twice. The NZ flag and fern parts of the plate were worn looking but the rest of what I saw was nice my query is are their many of these around in NZ?. A young dude was driving around 25-28ish.

A similar thing hay bales, standard squares though four of them tied to the roof rake of a Caldina station wagon.

Sorry not so ask Nick021 as I got one off him for a lot less

Saturday morning's used to be funny all the D I Y ers would load up their trailers with builder mix/ cement bags ready for the big concrete pour. The number of trailers that ended up with bent axles or even worse was crazy people just had no idea how heavy things can get.

Just seen this on TV one news, it is faked. It would appear the guy was attached to a wire like a flying fox I think and hence the pin point landing in the pool even so would have been a fun ride.

Have to agree Ollie that is butt ugly is that why they only made 100? haha

Trade me at the moment http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/CategoryAt...earchRegion=100 if it's any help, have seen several 320D around Palmy but no larger cc one's. The diesels have always been a little more expensive don't know why.The maintenance could be a little higher also more oil changes etc correct me if wrong. As for the manual conversion are you talking about a e39 conversion or something else?. If an e39 that would be an interested project and a mission not impossible but very very expensive. The mechanical side shouldn't present to many challenges if you could source the necessary components. The electronics could be a real can of worms the later the car is the more complex they become and hence more difficult to do these conversions on. When reading the thread on Glenns engine transplant into the 318 he touched on this I believe. But turn over enough stone's and heaven knows what you are likely to find these days happy hunting. Cheers Allan

Must be age catching up on you haha!. On a serious note is does bring back memories of a more unified country trying to help others less fortunate while still having a whole heap of fun. Go on you

Zarry hi!, Drive as many of them as you can find sort out the one you like and can afford then get a pre-purchase inspection done by Gray's in Plmy Nth. A full service history is another thing to look out for also, problems with the e39's that I have had to deal with are pixels in instrument cluster drop off. Cooling system, radiators, thermostat housings, water pumps, expansion tank these have plastic components and as they age become brittle and can brake. Their are others items but like all car things wear out just take your time and one will stand out from the rest then click that's the one Cheers good hunting Allan

Sorry to say this Avenged.SSE but your vehicle and others like it are just the target these #%$&* people look for. Some rich #$%^&*&^ he can afford it keyed car. Just another sign of the state our society is in today, just my little rant sorry. Have had a sh*t week with similar things happening so I sort of know what you feel like, stiff upper lip and all that. Cheers Allan

Yes I was aware of the model difference. For me the e36 would suit me as I could fix most things myself if I owned one. The e46 you have to pay somebody as they have so much more tech no stuff in them, when not if it goes wrong it can cost $$$$$$ this I have found out with the 5 series. Allan

Good to see another E39 join the gang If you don't mind which way is the shift when using the tiptronic move shift forward to go up, move shift backward to go up?

Know i had some more info on this E39_Headlight_adjuster_replacement.pdf Cheers Allan

Glad to see you have it all fixed good on you Glenn as mentioned I have opened up a few of the face lift Hella headlights. Yes Penry I have had one failure that was due to the wrong materials being used by someone to reglue it prior to my trying to re open it when the adjuster broke that unit ended up a total mess. Yes I have bought the adjusters from the dealers for the face lift headlights What worked for me 1. Remove headlight from vehicle 2. Strip all rubber components/ bulbs etc don't forget the two screws in the side of the light unit holding the clear cover 3. Remove screws and self leveling motors these have a ball at the end of a shaft look into the headlight to see which way these fit and with a little juggling you can disconnect them 3. Pre heat and oven to no more than 90c, can use a hair dryer need to be more careful with the heat though 4 Place whole unit in oven for 5 minutes 5. Have a clear work space and flat pry tools ready putty knife, flat steel rule etc 6. Remove from oven and place on bench, us a cloth then check to see which area of the lens is the easiest to pry off Work slowly around the lens releasing the retaining clips as well as you go remove the outer clear lense 7. Then remove the inner cover to reveal the reflectors and angle rings etc. 8 Using the headlight adjusters now totally unscrew the adjusters fully the reflectors by now should be floating and able to be removed from the black plastic headlight back. 9. Remove all broken pieces of the old adjuster check every place for bits' 10. To save you a possible problem I cut a new thread in to the adjuster by using some grease and the headlight adjuster shaft ,clean the adjuster. 11. Fit the new adjusters in their sockets on the reflectors and slide the adjusters reflectors assemble into their appropriate grooves. 12 Reassemble the headlight just check to see how sticky the sealant is before fitting inner cover and lense etc if not then re heat it As stated that is what worked for me cannot take any responsibility for it if it turns to custard sorry. Some I have found to be easy other a right pain in the bum best of luck.

Acherus, what cc rating is the E39 first?. The 530 I own gives me 700 to 750k( 75% highway running) on a tank that is running 95 or 98. The 91 issue I cannot comment on as I have never used it and wouldn't as I believe it is not recommended by BMW for my engine. Some high kilometers have been attained in e39's longevity is like anything you look after it it will look after you abuse it and it will severally bite you. An e39's with 174k's and the service history to back it up should present no problems. As Jochen mentioned stay away from the 520 the e39 is not a light car. my two cents worth or is that five now

Just out of interest how close would the inside workings of the e39 lights with angel eyes be to the e46 as I have still got my old ones when I did the light up grade to HID/ xenon if your interested. Allan

Their was a TV bit about this 300,000 pounds I think for a flight. If you really want a buzz then spent 40 million and spent a week in the international space station you have to go with the Russians though and you get to keep your space suit happy space flight.
