  7. Hi molehole1308, Have Goodyear F1's on the front and traveled 62,000km on them so far. The rear had GT radials champiro HPZ-45 97w and they did 60,000km only had to replace them because they scrubbed the inside edge of the Tyre out due to incorrect rear suspension angles. Have replaced them with the HPX GT radial 97w as they no longer make the HPZ's this gives me a good quiet ride and reasonable tyre life. Have found that maintaining the correct pressures on an E39 will help you get the most out of your rubber we all like a spirited drive now and again but if you are lead footed them nothing will prevent excessive wear taking place. 8. +1 have seen both these movies and Avatar is great very good computer effects. Train your dragon is ok but will leave that up to your son to decide. Going to the movies is not a cheap exercise as you found out I would say $55.00 was not bad.Throw in some drinks, pop corn and ice creams and $75 $80 bucks comes round real quick. Forget about the cash have a real good time with your son these moments are precious they grow up so dam quickly these days!. Allan.

    Palindrome

Had this sent to me very clever enjoy A palindrome reads the same backwards as forward. This video reads the exact opposite backwards as forward. Not only does it read the opposite, the meaning is the exact opposite.. This is only a 1 minute, 44 second video and it is brilliant. Make sure you read as well as listen...forward and backward. This is a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old. The contest was titled "u @ 50" by AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause. So simple and yet so brilliant. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=42E2fAWM6rA Allan
  10. Came from an add for a 320d your thoughts? Driving enjoyment in beats per minute A car's speed is generally expressed in terms of how many miles or kilometers it can cover per hour. Yet these measurements say little about how a car feels on the road. They cannot convey the joy brought by the sound of an engine responding instantly to the throttle, the pleasure of looking out over a long sweeping bonnet, nor can they express the satisfaction of seeing the country side flash rapidly by, or the feeling of abandoning one's self to the open road. For when it comes to measuring driving pleasure the only true guide is the beat of your heart. Allan
  11. With all the talk about diesels how would this stake up and does the M57 have any faults along with the others E39's have? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=278658871 Allan
  12. Glenn is correct turning the heater off will achieve nothing. Should the heater "resistor block" be faulty the heater can have a mind of it's own. The heater blower final stage (resistor block) do fail as they generate heat and over time the resistors inside them degenerate this could be a reason for your flat battery problem, personnel experience. If I my suggest get the battery checked properly to see what it's state of charge, voltage and ph levels etc no matter how old/ young the battery might be. This is your main power source and if it is faulty it can lead you to have all sorts of weird things happening, E39's have heaps of electronic stuff going on in the back ground. This was my problem when I started having flat batteries. It was not until I removed the battery and had it properly charged and load tested by some one who know what they were doing with batteries that I got a solution to my problem. In my case one of the cells had failed and would not hold a full charge. So if the car wasn't used for a day or so guest what it wouldn't start so frustrating. Best of luck with this and when all cleared up let us know what it was. Cheers Allan
  13. Friday had a day in the big smoke and ever second car I saw seemed to be a beemer but this stood out a Black 645Ci parked in Broadway, Newmarket. Then in the very next breath nearly go run down by a woman driving a blue 120 1 series Warning beemer spotting my be hazardous to your health haha!!

  15. My daughter showed me this http://www.3news.co.nz/Youth-jailed-for-dr...rticleID=140452 your opinion. Is this common for the youth of today or just an isolated case?
  16. Have purchased a number of part from the states ie Pelican part and many others. The cost of these have been at most two thirds that of price's quoted by dealers here in NZ. As stated $400.00 is the cut off before you may get hit with GST. As for the best shipping time frame I found ring them on a Friday NZ time as they are some 20hrs behind us. This gives time to sort the order do all the paper work and it should be on the plane to NZ over the weekend and about 2 working days later in your hands. So about six to eight days in total most if not all items these days have a tracking number so not a big deal to keep an eye on happy shopping. Allan
  17. A person of Steve Williams standing must be able to be contacted one way or the other just send him a thank you for his consideration and a link to this thread also sorry to hear about the lose of a loved one Allan

    Time wasters?

Hello Bellicose and Happy New Year to you. It is one of the many frustrations of running a business these days and dealing with the general public only increases that frustration unfortunately. As the standards of our society fall away this problem in my opinion will only increase. The "respect" angle as mentioned before is a major part of this and needs to be re enforced in all of us young and old. In saying that is the lack of respect shown to others a lack of respect for them self and they know no different. A hard one to solve but never the less frustrating to deal with one of the many joys(lol) of being a member of the human race. Have always tried to deal with others as I would like to be dealt with in return. Allan
