That is one load of m and m's running around. Could you please in plain English explain to me what on earth Teutonic synchronicity means as I'm only a working man and big words like these leave wondering, laughing quietly to him self as he types this out???

It would appear that Central Otago is a place of great activity and one to avoid if you do not wish to have a run in with the local boys in blue, laughing! Great jokes all the same.

Found this in the Bentley service manual on idle speed Idle speed control valve. This regulates the idle speed by re-directing air around the throttle valve. It is mounted on the under side of the intake manifold adjacent to the dip stick tube. The idle speed control valve incorporates a two coil rotary actuator and the ground side of each coil are pulsed simultaneously by the ECM . A faulty Idle speed control valve sets a fault code and the MIL is illuminated when the OCB11 fault criteria is exceeded, Bentley service manual. I have read on an American forum also of these seizing up and coursing problems maybe yours is sticking slightly and could be giving the symptoms you mentioned. Cheers Allan

Just adding more horse power, but it would have been better under the bonnet. Do you have any details how it occurred.

Hi have two Questions. Alternator drive belt for e39 M54 motor what life span would you expect to get from one? Can the tensioner's on these cause trouble? Back ground info Early last year, Jan, Feb I had it replaced by the dealer, 59,000km has now done 91,000k and on Monday started to squeal a little, Wednesday got a call from my wife to say the car wouldn't start. Found starter would not engage turn over the engine, starter would spin. Local mechanic jumped started it for me and I had the battery re- charged. Had a look at it myself and ended up replacing the belt. Am a little concerned that I still may have a problem once the new belt settles down and stretches a little. My reason for my concern is I can depress the belt if I apply pressure with my thumb to it between the alternator and power steering pump section of the belt is this normal or not?. Thanks for any advice Cheers Allan

how long should it take. Click on bimmersport book mark and open the main page with all the new topics on it.Click the one you want and it then re-builds the page and the topic concerned gets to almost completed and stalls a few seconds.Completes the load up and opens the section concerned is this just my connection or normal. On a reasonable broadband connection. Clear the cookies etc also to avoid any jam ups that some have mentioned before. Cheers Allan

Born Redcliff Oxford lived in Yorkshire, Darlington Richmond Castle Area. My father was head herds man on a dairy farm and shifted us all to NZ in the early 60's mainly for us kids sake and a chance at a better life he said. Started in Dunedin, educated and started work their them moved up to the North Island. Was the ripe age of seven when I left England and have not been back. Just out of interest how many of you know what Pome stands for? Cheers Allan

It's all good and well to give Labour heaps about their performance. Maybe they deserve it but what is their to replace them with. The Nats are all at sea, the green's would have the country broke in no time flat, Winston Peters would be out flogging any new immigrant's, the Maori party well I'll leave that one alone as for the other parties well heaven only knows I'm not saying Labour should get back in but take a long hard look at the whole situation first. Just my 10 cents worth lowest valued coin anyhow haha!

Simon are you sure. Thought most of the brewery's where in overseas hand one way or another. Can comment on the other item. It is very scary when you realise how little of NZ is owned by New Zealanders these days.

MMMM!. SAFETY SAFETY must come first when dealing with coil springs or any loaded suspension part. Pussy has nothing to do with it you are playing with some dangerous items. Sorry to sound like and old grump but if you mess up you not live to talk about it. Have had first hand experience of a McPherson strut insert job going wrong, one scary episode. Make sure you have the correct gear and know what you are doing or get a professional to do it for you. Just my 5 cents worth.
-
Did you have the battery disconnected while doing this? If not I think you my have to have the system re-set. Not sure but some times their are extra plugs for other accessories if every thing is working in the sounds department and it is no danger of coursing a short don't try and find it a home. Out of interest what holds the door handle to the door skin any how? Did the info I sent you help at all? Cheer Allan

Not totally sure but are we to take it from the picture that it is showing us both the manual gearbox/flywheel set up and autobox set up. If so the spacer would be for the auto set up to obtain the correct distance for the starter pinion to be able to engage the ring gear correctly. Just my thoughts on it.

I see what you mean. Under the spec's list, sixth paragraph down makes mention of engine tweaking and a raise in the compression ratio this may account for the different bhp

Are you going to see if the glue holds or are you just going to replace the handle. Have a Bentley Manual could have a read to see what it would involve to replace the handle if you wish. Or get it to a body shop and let them have I look may cost you a few extra $$$$$ thats all.
