I haven't done the figures yet 1,185k's on $82.00 diesel, RUC still to be added. The vehicle was a 2002 406HDi 2ltr auto with four adults and their luggae. A trip to Dunedin and four days running back and forth St Kilda to Mosgiel, Airport x2 etc.

Welcome to the e39 family Josh all the comforts of home haha. If I may a couple of stealth bulbs in the rear indicators would make those rear clears IMO. Also you will love that rear PDC as the e39 is not an easy car to see out of when backing the front set up is also a help. Prrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmm, Slurrp, Slurrp, enjoy. Cheers Allan

That buy now price on those led's for the halo rings is not bad. The standard factory bulb is only 5 watts and must not be stepped up or you will start to melt things inside your head lights. The difference from factory to LED have a look The one's on trade me look like they are plug in and connect up to orginal wiring which is great no splicing. Nick just out of interest what year is the e39 up 2000 I think they tend to throw warnings at you when you do mods like this, all the diagnostic stuff they do behind the scenes. Cheers Allan

Have bought parts from Pelican before and 6 days is the longest I have had to wait. Place your order Thursday night NZ time. It will go through the Pelican processing stage's and be on a plane to NZ either Friday or Saturday US time by Tuesday it should be on your door step. Glen is correct any thing over $400NZ can get nailed by customs. Have been lucky so far as most of the shipping invoices just state antique motor parts with a nominal amount. Also before you check out search for alternate freight costing from memory their are about 5 to choose from. If you are able to open an account with them it makes it so much easier when you need to buy something else later on. Cheers Allan

In what position does the front suspension have to be to check the ball joints on the front arms and tie rod ends. Cheers Allan

As stated it is your exterior temp sensor, it is located in a recess in a panel which is connected to the bumper and the splash panel/ engine protector plus attached to the lower wheel arch liner. Have a look on the 540i you have mentioned on your car's listed it should be the same as the touring. The lower wheel arch liner new from a dealer is around the $100.00 mark not sure on the panel that the sensor is housed in. Their could be other panels affected as well it might not be a cheep fix sorry to say. Allan

Just out of interest what would it cost to do a complete convertion on a 328 to a manual trans Ray or Brent. If price is sensitive just pm me. Cheers Allan

Mark that is interesting as I have been watching the prices on e36's and have to say what the owners are asking for them is crazy. ie 12 grand for 96 328i , 10 for a 318ti m-sport 98.The one concerned is fouteen years old done 188,000ks, auto so not an uncommon vehicle now. So apart from any goodies and it's service history between three and half max of four my thoughts.

Noticed some water on the garage floor and tracked it down to the temperature sender unit. Upon removing it I found it has only got one small "O" ring to seal it off. Does anyone know can the O ring be replaced seperately or is it a whole new sender unit No 4?. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=11&fg=35 Thanks for any help

Thanks John seems a bit more logical for bmw trust them to have an off road vehicle that isn't. A litle like the one on top gear couldn't even get up a grass slope any how just having a bit of fun. Cheers

Nice photo's Hybrid a few dollars in cars sitting their. Have one concern what message is BMW giving with the push bike on the Beemer, needed because they brake down regularly and the blue tooth doesn't work or be clean, green and ride the bike instead

Rear bumper off a 2002 e39 sedan. As you can see it has rear PDC these sensors are not include asking around 350. Have a few other items that need to go exterior mirrors with memory, headlight parts facelift model etc

That set up looks a little odd it looks like an a adaptor, grey piece has been fitted between the base unit and bulb holder could be wrong. Maybe if this is the case the bulbs are xenon/ HID but the reflector part is not the correct one just a thought. Could you take a photo of the bulb also. A look at my set up these are hella type units

mmmm, very interesting did the garage give you a reason why they failed. If like the hella Xenon's I fitted to my 02 530 you can not simple change the low beam bulbs as they have a different housing and bulb base to a halogen type, plus the Xenon bulbs are gas filled and reguire a high electrical discharge to ignite the gas inside them. As for the computer warning I think pre September 2001 did throw a warning about your lights as the computer scan of the circuit found no resistance, from the removed low beam bulbs. Yes the face lift model headlights do look a lot nicer than the pre just my opinion. Let us know how you resolve this. Cheers Allan
